I don't know why I chose DSU as my first Alex G album (perhaps it was the cover?), but I'm glad I did, because it's pretty great. The spacey and airy guitars create a warm and dreamy atmosphere perfect for those long reflective nights. The distant yet vibrant sound is so chill and pretty. I just find myself zoning out among the soft vocals and fuzzy instrumentals, joining this album in quiet reflection. Yeah, this album isn't far out or something I haven't heard before, but it is consistently good, and the few standout moments REALLY stand out. Hollow in particular is AMAZING. Ultimately, DSU is a pleasant and quant album that, in my opinion, didn't need to be much more than that. It isn't perfect, but the passion and emotion is there, and it's palpable.

Best Tracks: Harvey, Hollow, Boy
Weakest Track: Rejoyce
