This album is a tapestry of sound, beautiful, symphonic and dark. A perhaps my favorite example ever of a bad taking the sound they are known for and moving it forward in an innovative new direction without losing its soul.
In the end, this is just a great album to listen. While it may not be making informed commentary on the state of society in 2014 or alluding to previous un-recognized genres or creating something never been heard before or commenting on feminism in America or anything else that will earn it high marks with the critics, I encourage you to put it on with a pair of headphones and play it loud (You'll be bopping your head the whole time).
G I R L gets a 20, simply because of the track "Gust of Wind" w. Daft Punk. Beyond that, I'd give it a 05.
This album is beautiful. Some of the tracks go on a bit too long, but one of the best road trip albums I've heard in a long time.
