I wasn't really expecting much heading into this album just because I knew it wouldn't be nearly as polished as Q's other work, but this honestly is a solid debut album. If you're a diehard Q fan, this is an album that you should definitely check out because there is a lot of solid material packed throughout this album. This album has a lot of laid-back production for the most part, with some more upbeat and punchy beats at some points as well. Q has some solid performances throughout this album, with the occasional weak performance every once in a while. Later in his career I think he does a much better job at capturing his intense delivery, and on this album it seems like he's trying to discover his rapping style. This album also features a plethora of different artists, with most of them coming from TDE. Kendrick Lamar's contributions are the most notable with his animated delivery on LigHt Years Ahead, and his stellar rapping on Birds & the Beez. All of the other features are really solid as well, but Kendrick really stole the show on the tracks he was on. While I think some moments on this album aged better than others, this album definitely showcases Q's potential that he would later realize on his future projects.
