Very good first 4-5 song run, slows down in the middle, and picks back up at the end. It's just energetic (british.....) indie rock that actually feels kind of perfect for summer.
side note why are 60% of the good indie bands british?

i had to stockholm syndrome myself to enjoy the lyrics but it's a fun time
by it I mean THE AJR SONG EXCLUSIVELY I HAVE NOT LISTENED TO THE REST OF THE SCORE AND DO NOT PLAN TO.
egregiously overhated. it's not amazing, but it's egregiously overhated.
The cool new band to hate on is (or well, at the time of me writing this review, was) the band to hate on. I can kind of see why it's happening, as there are some real stinkers on here, but the level of shit thrown at this album and sleep token as a whole is not at all necessary. Even In Arcadia has low moments, the main example being Past Self as it just isn't metal and is rather a middling pop ... read more
The Great Divide is in serious contention for my album of the year upon first listen, but i’ll probably continue listening and share my full thoughts soon. Right now, though, the best way I can describe this album is that it’s a more mature, adult Stick Season. Even putting it like that doesn’t do it full justice.
There’s so many themes on this album that feel like more mature versions of songs on Stick Season; So many of these songs feel like Noah Kahan rethinking the ... read more

This album is labeled as dance-pop but I think it's more after-the-party-dance-pop.
It stumbles at the end, but there's a really moody and emotional ambient album hiding underneath the fun pop tracks here. This entire project really stretches across a range of vibes and covers all of them with excellence. If there's anything to commend this album on, it's the theming and ambience.

i fear the artist is not a great person but i am willing to separate it and the art as the opening 3 track run is truly phenomenal
harry's horny all the time. sad, occasionally.
Mitski is a poet (but I wish she would get a better mixing engineer).
Literally an album of poetry to music. Phenomenal lyricism on display throughout all 34 minutes of this project, even on the 2 tracks I didn’t enjoy as much. I think that this album could have an argument for it being a 100 if the soundstage was a little better. A few of these tracks sound kind of muddy and poorly mixed, but it’s only really apparent on That White Cat. Very easily my AOTY so far!

I fear this one did not click with me
there are some truly phenomenal tracks on here, "Come On! Feel the Illinoise!", "Casimir Pulaski Day", and "The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us!" being masterpieces of lyricism in my eyes, but the runtime and sheer length of this project slowly whittled away my enjoyment of this project as a whole. The atmosphere is built very well, but many tracks on here just didn't interest me too much. It's not ... read more
bruno mars does what bruno mars does best: be horny and have relationship problems.
also if you made me listen to this allbum 5 times in a row and then played me any track on here (minus i just might) i could not give the name cus this really is just average bruno mars.

easily the weirdest album of the year so far. also easily one of the most diverse and interesting.
wherever the gorillaz lore is at in this album is a great point because this album has easily the widest soundscape of any album i’ve ever listened to. it takes so many elements of different cultures and genres and blends them into such a cohesive and strong project.

i don't completely hate the streaming version but the original is about 100x better
the first half of Saviors is pretty strong, with a pretty solid opening 5 tracks. Bobby Sox and The American Dream... are easily my favorites of the project. Green Day seem to lose steam, though, with the rest being rather boring and, at times, legitimately just bad.

this album is pretty good when one of or both of the following conditions are met:
(a). don toliver's voice isn't autotuned to hell
(b). don toliver isn't straining his voice to hit one high note the entire length of a track
these conditions are only met about 40% of the runtime
