ROAD TO PRIMAVERA SOUND PORTO '26 | #7 - Oklou
Oslo brings a new sound for portrayal on her debut LP that, while leaving me in a lacklustre state sometimes due to the constant feeling that she could risk more, still brings an overall solidly good melodic pop project with some shards of possible greatness in future stages of her career (harvest sky). One artist to keep an eye for sure!

ROAD TO PRIMAVERA SOUND PORTO '26 | #6 - Gorillaz
My AOTY so far, what an incredible exploration that Damon and Jamie do on the concepts of death and culture, and powerful social commentaries on the state of the world when interpreted by different cultures. One of their best and most impactful works, and I can't wait for going to watch them at my town on the next week ⛰️

A simple debut album for Violet as she explores the range of her sound, with some highlights (Last Day I Loved You, Plastic Couch) but with an overall present vibe that feels like she has room to improve

ROAD TO PRIMAVERA SOUND PORTO '26 | #5 - Sensible Soccers
Sensible Soccers bring a bunch of relaxing instrumental tunes on their debut, with nothing out of the ordinary but with a really solid work in the end (also, AFG is just incredible)

ROAD TO PRIMAVERA SOUND PORTO '26 | #4 - KNEECAP
Beforehand, lemme say that I already liked KNEECAP before listening to this project: some pretty straightforward Irish dudes that over the first years of their career (and consummated in their debut Fine Art), produced political hip-hop with no strings attached to any particular beats pattern, they always were inventive and experimental within their musical concept. Well, after almost two years of growing exposure, polemic actions, strong ... read more

ROAD TO PRIMAVERA SOUND PORTO '26 | #3 - Big Thief
I from 3 years ago would never think a near-future version of me would enjoy a folk project, but here I am vibing in sync to this cosy project from Big Thief. The lyrics are amazing, the sonority and different techniques used are spot on almost all the time, it's just a collection of great songs that make 1h20m pass by so fast.
If I "Would you live forever, never die, while everything around passes", I would certainly ... read more
MARO tries to deliver a bad single (Challenge IMPOSSIBLE)
MARO e Ana Moura is a match made in heaven, I'm sad that it's just a single track, an album from them two would feed generations
ROAD TO PRIMAVERA SOUND PORTO | #2 - Slowdive
Shoegaze 101.
As a unfrequent Shoegaze enjoyer, I had the same feeling listening to Souvlaki as I did years back when I was an unfrequent Hip-Hop enjoyer listening to To Pimp a Butterfly: this is so good, I hope someday I can appreciate it way more. The ethereal acoustics blend so well with the interlacing vocals, what a great album!

ROAD TO PRIMAVERA SOUND PORTO | #1 - The xx
Simple but still inventive
Calm but still chillingly resounding
Low risk but still efficiently strong
The xx deliver an atmospherically dream oath of a debut album

Peggy keeps on experimenting with those aggressive samples, but for the first time it isn't good and is just an aggressive listening experience. Also wtf was that Charlie Kirk freestyle😭
