In comparison to "Like...?", this "LP" is a bit better, since Gaston manages to bring more melody to her voice, so that she doesn't sound that monotone and the adlibs are more digestible. Anyway, the whole sound of the LP just isn't anything new or special, and it's just not that exciting.

I have mixed feelings on this. Here are songs, mostly the singles that have been out for quite a while, and some new tracks. Especially the new tracks just can't manage to get me hooked and after hearing this, I have no idea what direction he wants to go with this. I mean, at times the genre mix just doesn't feel quite right. Anyway, the great tracks on this make up for the weaker parts.

Bis auf einige Lieder hat das Album keinen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen. Der gesamte Sound ist für meinen Geschmack etwas zu entspannt, aber wenn es abliefert, dann genau richtig.

Poppy returns on her sixth album with some solid metal. There isn't anything notably innovative, but the LP is still darn enjoyable, especially the versatility of styles and approaches throughout these 42 minutes. The tracks themselves are all nice, I just don't really care for the intermissions (or skits, idk what to call them), but I appreciate, that they function as bridges between the songs.

I think they found a great fit with Emily Armstrong, yet they underdelivered. 'The Emptiness Machine' is a great opener and introduction to the new singer, and 'Heavy is the Crown' caught my with its driving melody (and it just reminds of the good old days tbh). Es kommt definitiv nicht an seine vorherigen Veröffentlichungen ran, aber es ist trotzdem nicht schlecht. Besonders der Einfluss Barkers dämpft die EP meiner Meinung nach. Das Album trieft von seinem Einfluss, was ich etwas schade finde.

At some points I'm missing the power, but overall a nice EP. The deep cuts work way better than the singles. For me, 'The Void' stands out a bit, since it aimed for a way softer approach, that I really like.

Not a fan, but it's definitely overhated. For me, the biggest points of criticism are the lack of variation, the flatness of the lyrics and the fact, that seven out of eleven tracks were already released as singles, the earliest has been out almost five years ago.

They say "never judge a book by its cover", yet the cover art prepared me for a heavy LP. I mean, I wasn't disappointed, but kinda underwhelmed. The EP gives the listener a great variety of sounds that it pretty much a hit or miss. In my opinion, this is a mixed bag, as I enjoyed four of the eight featured tracks.

The song-choices are a bit odd in my opinion. Anyway, most of the tracks work well and are fun. Especially "Part of Your World" and "Friend Like Me" came out awesome. Other tracks feel a bit off ("Surface Pressure"/"A Whole New World"). All in all, the collabs breathe fresh air into these (mostly) old tracks.

Overall, I think the album is decent, even though most of the LP sounds like I just turned on the radio where I couldn't expect any innovation. The hyped tracks „Espresso“ and „Please Please Please“ didn't convince me that much, but some deep cuts are really fun.

"Platin war gestern" wirkt weniger wie ein eigenständiges Album, sondern eher wie ein Begleitwerk zu JBG 3, wobei es teliweise auch ein Kommentar zur Echo-Verleihung ist. Als Rückblick und Kritik funktioniert das Album ganz gut, bietet weiter leider nicht mehr. Mit einer mittlerweile gewohnten Leichtigkeit rappen Kollegah und Farid zusammen, was die Platte nochmal aufwertet.

Mir ist bewusst, dass die Platte auf einer Tour entstanden ist und man eben dadurch nicht die Creme de la Creme erwarten darf, aber einige Lieder sind unerträglich (ich meine dich, "Pearl White Fresh"). Durch die schnelle Machart sitzen die Bars nicht so sehr wie auf einem normalen Release, aber darüber kann man easy hinwegsehen. Was ich gut fand, war der Flow der LP. Kollegah bedient sich größtenteils dem üblichen Repertoire, doch insgesamt hat mich die Platte sehr überrascht, da stilistisch viel Neues probiert wurde, wie beispielsweise auf dem Outro des Titeltracks oder 'Aufstehn Aufstehn'.
