I’m not mad, just disappointed. A backtrack to try and sound like Melodrama. This was the first time I felt like Lorde felt formulaic in her style. While I didn’t care to much for Solar Power I can at least respect the new direction and evolution but this feels like someone else tried to write what they feel like a Lorde album should sound like. There are a couple good songs on here in a sea of forgettability.

Very silly and “theater kid core” sounding album that feels like experiencing a psychedelic ego death with a mix of fun wacky characters and questioning all of reality. Fun times!
Fun industrial album with some great sounds! The sonic sound is beautiful, such a shame this band never did anything else.

I love the idea and concept of this album a lot more than the album itself. Having a symphonic metalcore album where each song is based off a horror movie is a cool concept but it ultimately falls flat. It becomes apparent how formulaic this record is by the 3rd song. The string are nice and well arranged but are so low in the mix that it can’t be fully appreciated. The whole album is just dull which is very disappointing given the few really cool ideas on this project.

This album is a bit of a slow burn but has some very pretty and beautiful moments throughout. Some catchy songs and heartbreaking lyrics throughout. The harmonies are definitely the highlight all over this album. The highs are high but it does drag a bit for me.
