Haven't listened to any full Nas projects post-This Is Written so I'm not going into this with really any expectations. Feels like a very solid latter-day release. Some really good beats from Hit-Boy, sharp features even from people I wasn't expecting it from, like YG, and a nice nostalgic vibe mixed with some wealth/luxury food boasts. I like this quite a bit.
"Entwined" is the only track that properly kicks my ass from start to finish but I like this pretty well. I think playing with the structures more would help it stand out more
Nudy doesn't phone things in. Just love how he retains that intensity from DR. EV4L but also brings in some more somber qualities without coming across as preachy. A few filler tracks but Nudy's filler is better than most rapper's "highlights." And the beats are consistently excellent, with some G-Funk vibes at certain points
Alison Goldfrapp's vocals are just stunning, able to carry this quite beautifully. Not many moments of surprise but plenty of moments of pleasure
