Hopefully Slut Pop Miami is Kim’s last project for awhile…
It’s hard to really review these “songs” the tracks are so short there’s not much to discuss. Feed the beast wasn’t the best but at least there was actual hooks and vocals. I enjoy some of Kim’s music but there’s hasn’t been a project that I’m fully in love with. There’s no personality in these songs they just feel like a boring attempt of some tracks by ... read more
The Second Offering from Kali Uchis in under a year and I appreciate her consistency as an artist.
Orquídeas sees Kali depart a little from the sensual and dreamy r&b sounds she is known for especially in her last album. This time she creates a Latin album with dance pop elements and hints of reggaeton. I will say that some of the songs on here tend to feel a little bland compared to her previous albums but one thing Kali will provide is beautiful vocals and melodies. Te Mata is a ... read more
A fun little EP from Shygirl that’s made for the clubs.
Alias is still the best EP of this decade so far in my opinion and I haven’t heard Shygirl top that yet. However she’s still making fun and colorful music. The flow of the EP is pretty nice. Shygirl continues to have a range of sounds in her music even in this short offering of songs. It’s just fun electronic pop music that is made for the club. Personally I wish Shygirl would continue to make darker electronic ... read more
Who is Scarlet? After 17 tracks we still don’t really know. :
Doja Cats new album is all over the place and it leaves you wondering why she did all of this in the first place.
I don’t dislike this album all at I just feel like Doja doesn’t really know what she wants anymore. The promotion and marketing for this album was also all over the place. We never really get anything other than songs that sound like they could be on planet her and some rap songs that express the same ... read more
Desire, I Want To Turn Into You is brilliant!
Caroline polacheck was a name I have heard of and was on my list to check out and I’m so glad I did because this album is one of the best albums of 2023.
Welcome to my island bitch! had to give a nod to the remix with Charli xcx because it’s insane in the best way possible. The original song is also great and sets the tone perfectly for these 12 tracks of escapism.
The album feels out of this world, even the softest songs like crude ... read more
Slayyyter becomes a star in StarFucker:
I’m a fan of Slayyyter’s music so I was excited to see how she would follow up Troubled Paradise. This new album feels like what Slayyyter has wanted to do from the start. Create her own Perfect Pop album with even some homage to her favorite Pop Divas.
However the concept goes deeper to actually even be satirical to Hollywood fame at times especially with the opening track I Love Hollywood! It’s an infectious and interesting pop ... read more
Troye makes you feel the RUSH and even more with his best project yet Something To Give Each other. :
I don’t even know where to start with this project. I was always a fan of Troye but this album is his pop bible. On this 10 track run we see him explore his sexuality with songs about sex, love, and relationships and it keeps you captivated from start to finish. Troye has never sounded more confident which is honestly my favorite part of this album. Even in the two slower songs his voice ... read more
The follow up to Miley’s best album plastic hearts. Let’s talk about out why it was underwhelming.
Flowers became one of the biggest songs of the year early on and seemed to bring an abundance of attention to Miley that she hasn’t experienced in years. I personally think flowers is an okay song that reached the mainstream due to rumors of Miley’s past relationship, instead of the actual song being something thats memorable. As well as strong promotion from her new ... read more
This Is Why…I became a Paramore fan!!
I was never a big fan of Paramore and I still need to dive into their older albums. Last year I decided to listen to the title track when It came out and I was immediately hooked and looked forward for the release of the new album. Let’s just say they didn’t disappoint at all.
This is why is a perfect package of songs that have songwriting with substance, impeccable vocals, and exceptional production. Hayley’s voice is infectious ... read more
what are we feeding the beast exactly? the short answer mostly lackluster and uninspired pop songs…
Watching Kim try to aim for superstar status with her “””debut””” album feed the beast is underwhelming to say the least. One thing I won’t do in this review is undermine Kim’s talent and some of her previous work. I think she’s had a lot of potential which is why this album is a let down for me. Slut Pop was at least fun and ... read more
Lana is back and better than ever. Longer review! :
I try not to be biased because I’ve always been a really big fan of mostly everything Lana does. However I strongly believe this album is Lana at her best.
After the criticality acclaimed nfr, I believe that any follow up would be hard to achieve the same love and praise. Due to this we had 2 of Lana’s most divisive albums in her fan base and even for casual listeners as well. After the release of Chemtrails and Blue Banisters, ... read more
