Other than some rather unpleasant vocal performances, this was a pretty nice listen. Some of Roddy Ricch’s best songs are on this album. The features were pretty fine, but honestly forgettable & sometimes not needed. He has a very unique voice, but sometimes he doesn’t know how to use it for the right purposes & it can honestly be annoying at points. Nothing insane from a production standpoint, but nothing that makes me turn away. I honestly think the slower songs hold this ... read more
I always thought Cordae was good, but his music just had a problem sticking with me. This album is different, & it has stuck with me since my initial listen back when it dropped. In my opinion this is one of the more underrated albums released in 2024, & also I believe it’s Cordae’s best work. His lyricism really stands out on this project, talking about some heavy stuff like his daughter and grandmother. The features were also placed really well into their respective song. ... read more
Idk man I feel like Peggy’s music just ain’t for me. Half the time it feels like i’m just forcing myself to like his music and idk why. Like i obviously don’t think he’s bad, but i would be lying if i said i loved his music. It’s just too chaotic & sometimes it’s really difficult to get into. Like i’m not even sure if the songs i like on here i’ll return to. I did like the electric guitar on some of the songs though. I also believe ... read more
Hot take but this is J. Coles best body of work. Every feature was amazing and fit really well into the song they were featured on. The album manages to stay consistent from start to finish, with no filler. The album is pretty short & concise listen, making it have a lot of replay value. I will say the song titles really made my brain hurt. J. Coles flows on here were also really good, some of his best ever. Front to back this album features amazing sounding songs where J. Cole’s ... read more
On first listen, this is an album, that feels boring and decent at best. With more listens tho, it really starts to get better and now I love this album. This album offers very little variety in terms of production and how it sounds, but what it does offer is a breath of fresh air on the songwriting side. His songwriting is the focal point of the project, obviously talking about the relationship between fathers and sons. Giving his perspective with his father, but also the perspective of being ... read more
