i liked quadeca when his music was cringe, so is it really a surprise that i’d like his music when it’s actually at its best?
the storytelling roped me in and kept me interested and intrigued throughout the entire project, never really losing my (very quick to drift off) attention span. everything involved from the performances, instrumentals, lyricism, etc. came together to create an incredible musical journey that kept me hooked through its whole run time.
the only slight issues ... read more
my name is shayoshi and i’m really glad i listened to this project
it was recommended to me by some people
is it illegal for it to be this good?
favorite tracks: stateside, illegal, romeo, stars, girl like me, noises
“least” favorite: nice to know you
classic lil tecca album, a consistent helping of vibes all across the project. as long as he picks a good beat, he’ll have a steady flow and deliver a good vibe.
while nothing on the album quite elevated to the level of dark thoughts, his biggest single since ransom, i still enjoyed the album as i always do when it comes to tecca.
i also appreciate the attention to detail when it comes to the transitions between tracks to make the album a seamless listen
favorite tracks: dark thoughts, ... read more
finally got around to this one
pretty big improvement compared to their last project imo. this isn’t exactly the most groundbreaking album of all time or anything but it’s pleasurable while it’s on. very solid work
favorite tracks: leonard & marianne, intros & narrators, blue sky & the painter
least favorite: drawbridge & the baroness
i’m surprised the album actually came out!
there’s actually zero chance that this should be 30 songs long, it’s very dragged out with a lot of half-assed tracks tacked onto it. despite that, i think the baseline for a lot of these tracks is decent and i had an alright time with this album. the features definitely came to bat here, all of them were pretty good and elevated the songs they were on and the project as a whole. production is also mostly great. i will say i think ... read more
for a project titled HOT, i expected a little more energy and excitement. this one does get pretty boring for me at times. ash is pretty incredible though, and the title track is a good song too. don’t love the other two unfortunately, specifically the choruses don’t hit for me
favorite tracks: ash, hot
least favorite: so cynical (badum)
honestly, i’m shocked at how low this is rated on here! i thought rosé showed off some beautiful vocals on this project and put together an enjoyable experience. although it does get a little boring towards the end and i wish there was some more songs like APT on here with more energy, i don’t think there’s a truly bad song on this project and i found it very enjoyable throughout. my favorite of the solo projects the blackpink girls released, just barely ahead of ... read more
if you turned this album into a 5 track EP with the first 3 tracks and final 2 (non-alter ego solo) tracks, this would be a very good body of work. however, there is the middle 8 tracks that range from very bad to middling that bring this one down for me. it’s a decent project all things considered though
favorite tracks: born again, dream, rockstar, elastigirl, fxck up the world (vixi solo version), chill
least favorite: thunder
abel continues to stun vocally and has some of his best writing ever as he closes out his final chapter as the weeknd
favorite tracks: cry for me, enjoy the show, big sleep, red terror, hurry up tomorrow, baptized in fear, without a warning, given up on me, give me mercy
least favorite: drive
very solid album. i think a lot of it feels samey and can struggle to truly stand out, but his passion towards his craft as well as his tremendous love for his family are definitely worth something. his chemistry with his features like wayne and anderson .paak is fantastic. he’s definitely a very capable rapper and writer that i enjoy listening to generally, but i do hope to see him make *the* big leap that i believe he’s capable of and becoming one of the top artists in the ... read more
MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAARD
i woke up late today, and i think the last thing i expected to wake up to at 1:30pm was a surprise kendrick lamar album. i had no clue what to expect considering the summer kendrick just had, this being the first project away from TDE, his last album being the heavy trauma unpacking masterpiece that it was, and mostly having no indication of what this album would be like. with it being kendrick lamar, my expectations were most definitely high though. i’d say he met ... read more
i knew people didn’t like this album, but i didn’t realize the reception was THIS bad. damn!
as the number 1 pink tape defender, when i saw the negative reception to this album i wasn’t really all that concerned. people didn’t like that one either, but i ended up loving it. it’s my favorite uzi project! so i came in with relatively high expectations for eternal atake 2, despite the original eternal atake being my least favorite uzi project. those ... read more
this will definitely end the year as a top 5 album released this year for me. i only started listening to tyler during the igor era (i actually didn’t like it all that much at the time it seems, i should prob revisit it at some point) so i haven’t had as much experience with his music as most people have, but from what ive heard ive been a big fan. especially cmiygl, where i added every non-interlude song but 1 to my playlist. i think i like this one the best.

mid. most of the songs blend together, there’s a few that hurt my ears, and the features are quite bad. despite that, yeat does have a relatively unique sound/style that shows through and makes most of the tracks tolerable and leads to some hits. all in all, mid.
favorite tracks: heard of me, on 1, lyfestyle, fate
least favorite: forever again
i unfortunately just did not see any growth on this EP compared to their debut. the best thing i can say about most of these tracks is that they were pretty cute. while i understand that’s basically their branding (besides… ykw) there’s only so much you can do with that. nothing on this EP reaches the heights magnetic did imo and whenever they decide to put out their next release i really want to see them try something new. and something new that sounds good, i never want to ... read more
PERSONALLY i want to see aespa just go all out on making an EP full of just bangers. those are normally quite easily my favorite songs by them in my short lived aespa listening career to this point. they can pull off a softer/slower cut too, but at a lower hit rate for me. overall, i enjoyed this little mini project for what it is but there’s definitely room for improvement (go harder!!!)
favorite tracks: kill it, whiplash, flowers, pink hoodie
least favorite: flights, not feelings
don’t care, this is a banger. there’s a lot of spots that can be improved (mainly the chorus and overall just elevating the sounds it’s going for) but it’s very catchy and i only enjoy it more every time i hear it
i don’t even have blackpink blinders on because i never really listened to them. only started listening to kpop in 2022 and idek if blackpink has released a song since then. if anything these are bruno mars blinders bc i seem to love everything he ... read more
glaive’s 2nd studio album is my favorite full project of his so far! i think the vocal performances on this album are improved from his last album for example, and the production on here is mostly quite good as well. there’s definitely a blatant mixing of vibes here and i think that represents him and his personality very well. my only issues with this project are that a couple of the songs have random over the top bass boosts for no reason, the one feature on this project is ... read more
