I haven't listened to much of G-Eazy since 2017 and I have completely stopped after the wreck that is freak show. So my expectations for this album were quite literally 0. So I was very surprised when after the mediocre GRWM, Kiss the Sky started playing and it's...good!!
Like actually good.
So I kept listening and Dream About Me was really sweet and Fight & Fuck really reminded me of the oldschool G-Eazy.
But then it happened.
Nada.
By god this song is bad. The chorus literally ... read more
I genuinely wonder how Curren$y manages to drop like 5 albums per year. And when you put him on an album with Larry June and production by The Alchemist, you already know it has to be good at least. Drive Alone and 2.P.I.G did not blow me away but Stars On The Roof and the godly production on Empty Pages certainly did.
Only 7 songs long but so good I wish it was longer. So I just replay it over and over again. An amazing album front to back. Even just choosing my favorite song is difficult. With Santeria, If you know you know, The games we play and Come Back Baby it is almost impossible to choose a favorite. My least favorite is What would Meek do? But least favorite on this album still is like a 8.5/10. This is hery close to a perfect album for my, especially with Pusha T's incredible rapping and ... read more
One of my favorite projects this year so far. SAME SH!T has been on repeat constantly, CAMERAS had me floating, HAPPY HOUR is touching and beautiful and I greatly enjoyed the harmony on BOY IN RED. The whole album has a certain laid-back vibe to the production and rapping with SUPAFICIAL maybe having the best rapping performances. Maybe most impressive is the consistency. While I am sure I will not come back to all songs, currently they all are in rotation. Needless to say I was impressed by ... read more
My favorite project from Arcangel. Many of the songs like La Jumpa, La Ruta, Bottas, Fendace and PortoBello are still in my rotation today. The album is energetic, the features are great and while it is bloated it does largely remain consistent. Great performance as a whole.
A skipless project from JID leaps him into the coversation of the best rapper at the moment. It includes one of my favorite songs of 2022, Dance Now and delivers hit after hit. JID does a great job of bringing out the best from artists I normally do not enjoy as much, such as 21 Savage. Amazing project as a whole.
Personally, my favorite JID project to date. YouUgly is my personal favorite track on the album but it has so many outstanding performances by him and also the features like Community, VCRs, WRK, and Of Blue. I am interested to continue to watch JID's artistic growth since it does not seem to stop any time soon!
Surprisingly good. I really expected this album to be quite bad since I do not enjoy 21 Savage's music too much and I assumed they would not match well at all over a whole album, but the chemistry was surprisingly good and songs like Rich Flex and Broke Boys are fun. Still the album is quite bloated and fails to deliver many stand out moments. A good album.
Very very bloated. Most of the features are forgettable except for the amazing J Cole and the great Teezo Touchdown features that instead completely steal the light from Drake. Drake himself is forgettable throughout the whole album. Like what is the last verse on FPS? Still FPS and a few of the other songs are quite good, leveling out to an unimpressive mediocre album.
ambitious, futuristic, thrilling, sexual, multi-cultural, forward-thinking, or should I just call it amazing. All those words cna be used to describe the album and fit perfectly. SAOKO, CANDY and HENTAI are the highlights are my personal highlights although the album does not really contain any skips for me.
The long awaited return of Clipse brings and amazing album with amazing rapping and production delivering a skipless, replayable project fron to back. Even all the features delivered. This album is emotional and if I had to describe it with one word, it would be integrity.
This album was a perfect follow up to the feud with Drake. Showing reflection about Kendrick Lamar's spot in hip hop, reflecting on the influences that got him here and bringing the West Coast with him. While especially the title track gnx is sonically not quite up to standard it does exactly what it is meant to. It gives 3 lesser known west coast artists a huge platform. reincarnated, heart pt.6 and wacced out murals are amazing, and luther has become a HUGE hit. tv off even became a ... read more
Why is this album 30 songs long? Shut up, don't worry about it.
Why does Kendrick Lamar appear on 3 of the songs? Shut up, don't worry about it.
Why did this take 5 years? Shut up, don't worry about it.
Every single song on this album is overrated. The highs are really not that high and the lows are boring and monotonous.
Not horrible, but certainly not good
Whole Lotta Bloat
While Eminem likes to either drop amazing or awful albums and rarely likes to go the 'mid' way, this album seems to have hit the spot with people either see it as a return to form or a bitter old man ranting. I am in the second team. This album is bad. Gen Z is mean to me so I'll be mean back with a tinge of transphobia is not impressive or interesting. Neither is the highschool like humour of this album. I think this project is only enjoyable if you are still in highschool and ... read more
What happened to one of the GOAT contenders?
What happened to the second half of this album?
What happened to Jelly Roll to get him here?
I guess Hip-Hop, Welcome to tha Carter and Cotton Candy were...fine. But the lows on this album were LOW. There is a reason why many of the songs on this album are rated in thr 20s.
Forgettable, Broing, Disappointing and Uninspired. Kanye delivers nothing new while also being bad at delivering the old. Constant images of anti-semitism haunt this album. Almist none of the songs were actually interesting. Still, BURN is actually quite good and it did even have a hit in CARNIVAL during the prime Playboi Carti derp voice hype era. as a whole, disappointing, not horrible
Awful, bad, really really bad. And an unfinished mess. I guess Field Trip is fun-ish. But that's it. And what the hell are BOMB and HUSBAND. no, just no. Also maybe teach your American daughter not to say she is the Bomb before singing in Japanese. Leaves a really sour taste.
I never expected one of my favorite indie/folk albums of all time to come from Taylor Swift but here we are. This album is amazing, deep, profoundly sad and touching. cardigan, august, illicit affair and my tears ricochet are genuinely amazing songs. Great album.
Well this album was disappointing. A Taylor Swift album with a single hit record is unheard of. And worse the only hit record is also the only really interesting song on the album. Fate of Ophelia is a really fun song but had I not listened to the rest of the album I would have not really missed out on anything. This seems to be her first album where she has lost her emotional touch to deliver meaningful songs.
Pretty good! I actually really enjoyed this project much more than I expected. The production throughout the whole album is amazing and the rapping is mostly really good. What also pushes the album in rating for me is that I seem to enjoy a lot of the songs most, the community liked least like Colossol, Generation and Epiphany. I still enjoy parts of thr album today. 2 Chainz sounds energertic and Larry June delivers his more laid back performance but they joth harmonize quite well.
