After The Life of a Showgirl Red makes me remember why I love Taylor.
Red is a perfect example of Taylors true potential with near perfect execution balancing pop and country.
The reason this isn't a fully perfect balance is when Taylor is trying to execute pop hits she forgets she also has to make good songs with songs like Stay Stay Stay holding down the album.
But Red still remains my personal favourite Taylor album.
Lana's best piece of work.
This albums lack of critical acclaim was deliberate with Lana saying 'Blue Banisters was more of an explanatory album, more of a defensive album, which is why I didn’t promote it' Lana made this album not to be streamed to but to address years of criticism. It's visible with the album being open and showing Lana in the most vulnerable position she has ever shown.
