deer in headlights - Where have u been?

whub is one of the songs i'm most proud to have made, both conceptually, personally and sonically. but i do wish iwtw had better drum mixing; just couldnt replicate a live recording after the fact tho, still a cool song even if i'm at odds with mixing that snare

deer in headlights - event horizon

Having made this album I can't have an unbiased opinion about it. But maybe it does bring another perspective that no-one else wouldnt be able to bring to a review.

This album is an extremely self-serving project. Having been made in the time I was 17 years of age and being meant to represent that: it's a time capsule for both me and any onlooker to what 17 year old me was like. Maybe it's not the best written, produced, sung (I'm the one who has heard my own voice the most and even then I can ... read more

glass beach - the first glass beach album

One of my favourite records of all time. Heartwrenching emo with extremely clean production. I can go back to the album after listening to it hundreds of times and it still sounds fresh. Some of the best musical content on the experience of being gay and/or transgender.
This album should be regarded in high status of queer (musical) literature for decades.
Ive cried to this album more times than id like to admit.

Weatherday - Come In

No other album ive heard has been able to use and reuse conceptual motifs as come in does, from track to track ideas are repeated in a way thats always fresh and solidifies the album as one whole listening experience. You know this album is good when i cant listen to any other emo album without thinking "this is on the same level or less good as Come In". The raw sounds of the album solidify even further the emotions held in it, in a way comparable to Twin Fantasy (mirror to mirror). ... read more

파란노을 [Parannoul] - After the Night

Seeing music originally purely made from midi files and VSTs performed by live musicians is a spectacle, the recording of faithful live renditions of parannouls discography clearly takes inspiration from fishmans, but in doing that they try doing what maybe they cant do: stretching Into the Endless Night into longer than it had to be with that 5 minute long pure noise section was a bit of an oversight in my opinion. Despite that, everything else about this album is absolute dreamo perfection.

HMLTD - The Worm

This album has really good moments, but at the same time some songs get predictable really quick. Regardless, still a good listenn

One of my favourite releases of 2023, Dogsbody manages to be a noise/industrial rock project in the likes of NIN or Xiu Xiu while still keeping some identity of itself, great lyrical songwriting aswell as hypnotising rythms and soundscapes. Overall a great experience all the way through

In short, Daughters if they were good

파란노을 [Parannoul] - After the Magic

Mesmerizing mix of shoegaze, classical harmonic compositions, dream pop and folk-tronica. In my opinion not better than To See The Next Part Of The Dream but still a very welcome release in 2023
