One of my favorite albums of all time, with slow tempos and lush production, it moves away from the rawness of "Ultraviolence" into an elegant, dreamlike melancholy. Lana knew how she wanted this album to feel and she accomplished it so nearly flawlessly.
I loved every single track. It's not just an album, It's a narrative blueprint for how a man breaks, spirals, grieves, and slowly becomes someone better... too late for the one who mattered the most.
"Genesis" & "Miami" The origin of the downfall. These tracks set the tone: he's away, distracted, and lost in lust. You feel the temptation & disconnection building. "What I Want" This is the cheat song. The moment he makes the choice that ... read more
I loved the concept.
If you’ve listened to 6lack’s previous projects you can really feel the difference in his approach for this. The songs have a lot more depth to them and feel as cohesive as ever.
Album title says it all “Since I Have a Lover” this isn’t the same “Why The Fuck my Ex Calling” 6lack, it feels that he’s embraced having someone in his life and for a lot of us who have been able to find that I think a lot of these songs hit home.
This album has really grown on me, the depth of emotion that Post poured into this album is unmatched.
It's a solid summertime album to jam out to
Love his voice and songwriting
Favorite track : all of them hihi
This is one of the most cohesive concept albums I've heard. I disagree with the "female rage" perspective that many view this album through, Like a film, I see it in three stages: genesis, purpose, and death.
Favorite tracks: "A House in Nebraska" and " Strangers"
deep dive into a broken heart trying to fix itself. This album gave me the feeling of being at a Diner at 2 am after a breakup, trying to grasp at every loose end of your broken heart. Many songs stand out to me on this album, and since this album is full of good songs, it's hard to pick a favourite, but the main song that stood out to me was " Apollo Eighteen"
Honestly my expectations weren't really high coming into this listen
I like how Son Of Spergy’s strength lies in its themes and storytelling. This is easily the most vulnerable and open Caesar has gotten in any of his works to date.
Favorite track: Have A Baby (With Me)
