A very generic song, and quite a disappointment too, considering that I actually enjoyed (and still do) the first single. The production is trying to be way too poppy, even for a band like Green Day, and having a garbage chorus doesn't help it.
The chorus isn't terrible but that auto tune ruins any possibility of the song being good.
It's pretty nice. The vocals are something quite different from normal Green Day, but still pretty neat. It's loud, catchy and fun. It's a lot better than the cover implies, because holy shit that is horrible.
A bit too repetitive towards the end, but it bangs the whole way through.
It's not the best... oh wait.
I honestly did I enjoy this a lot more than I thought. It does get on the repetitive side a bit, which is something a song under two minutes should never be. This could work really well if you just add more elements/melodies to the mix. But altogether, congrats on notbuzzzila for making something electronic that I can vibe.
While it probably doesn't sound like a song I'd give a 100 to, this song just brings back so many emotions for me. I love that bridge so much.
Even though I was a massive Twenty One Pilots fan, I disliked this immediately on launch. I hadn't even heard the original song (which is a masterpiece) and I knew something was off. The vocals aren't absolutely dreadful, and the very minimalist style (granted, the original wasn't teeming with diverse instrumentation) could've been done well. But holy fuck, I hate everything about the chorus, from how grating the drum machine is to the repeated vocals. This song is not good in any sense.
Longer songs, when done right, are just songs with more to love in them. And this is a long song done perfectly. I really don't care about the Fibonacci things, although they do deserve a mention, but even without that, the effort put into this song is more than some put into entire albums.
While just seconds under being a full ten minutes, hardly any of it is wasted. An unforgettable way to go out.
Reminds me of when I used to like Fallen Kingdom more than Viva la Vida. So much nostalgia is tied to this song.
While slightly repetitive, the song is almost flawless. It did take time to like the solo, though.
