although it's a bit of a downfall from TPAB, I still find myself really enjoying some of the bangers on this album and the story it tells! i also feel like it's made more for the masses, rather than hip-hop enthusiasts.
i gotta say, it gets a lot better after a couple of listens. at first I really disliked the contrast of this EP, but after 2-3 more listens I started to really appreciate the chaotic nature of "come to daddy". i still feel like a good quarter of the tracklist here is super filler, but hey, it's still pretty enjoyable!
blissful, yet depressing at the same time. still enjoy listening to it to this day, and I also feel like "playing possum" is pretty underrated!
i feel like there's nothing more that you can say about this album that haven't been said before, at this point you can just call it a hip-hop bible. every track here is filled with beautiful beats and hidden meanings, that need hours of discussions to understand. flawless record!
what can I say, a timeless classic, that has changed my perspective on electronic music with it's soothing atmosphere and memorable melodies. my ultimate go-to album. still can't believe that it was released in 1992!
this record has slowly grew on me throughout this year, at the first listen I haven't really understood some of the tracks, but every time I've listened to this record I started to like it more and more. "i never dream" is still one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard, the emotions that it evokes are indescribable. I also feel like the most underrated one is "rave on u", which perfectly nails the progression and contrast play.
