Despite being overall a pretty short ep its definitely memorable to say the least I mean like god the cover art wth Richard. I think its definetley carried by said title , like dude those last few mins with the climax of the title track holy heck man go so hard, absolute head banger. Decided to give this album a go after getting into Aphex Twin and IDM. It was definitely an experience to say the least, many times throughout this album I felt feelings of horror and tension yet it was all so mesmerizing at the same time. These feelings being heightened by the track titled "Devil in the Details" due to the eerie lyrics. I see why many people say this album evokes said darker feelings. Absolutely gorgeous and groundbreaking album that really hits you with so much emotion. This album makes you enjoy the moment and makes you go on an odyssey of emotions from the sad, to frightened, to peaceful, and bliss. Rhubarb (#3), Stone in Focus (#19), and Lichen (#21) are some of the most beautiful pieces of music out there that really puts you into a state I can't describe but it leaves you at peace. I've recently been getting really into Richard's work after watching a video about hsi discography and I gotta say this ep is a trip dude! It covers a variety of sound such as the moments of beauty in Flim and IZ-US, there is a variety of songs in this ep that definitely make me a bit uncomfortable when it comes to lyrical content such as that in Come to Daddy - Little Faultrey Mix and Funny Little Man. Pretty new to AOTY but decided to finally create an account after i've been getting really into more music the past few years. If I had to say my favorite genres its probably a mix of electronic and rock but I also do like some rap. Right now I am really getting into discovering Aphex Twin's discography but another favorite artist of mien is Radiohead (more reviews to come).
