favorites: sex sells

typa songs i like but have a 50/50 chance of skipping if they come on. i feel like the drums, guitar, and vocal are all (generally) good on their own but feel oddly disconnected unless youre blasting them through a speaker while blasted out your mind. not that i would know but i feel like this band would sound a lot better in person! with a bit of polishing i think they can really hit it off. every song has at least one moment that feels oddly out of ... read more

indigo la End - Crying End Roll
NR

i love the part where they go ooo ooo ooo oooO ooo ooooo oooo
anyway im really digging the main singers guys tone but id rather dearly pluck a few songs off this album than ever listen to the full thing, a lot of the songs dragged on and blended together in the not-good-way

Faye Webster - Atlanta Millionaires Club
NR

favorites: kingston, what used to be mine
least favorite: flowers

i really like the trumpets on this album. im ngl tho when flowers switched to the feature it felt so out of place :') it couldve worked man something about it was just so too different to the rest of the songs though lmaoo

Snail Mail - Lush
NR

favorites: heat wave, speaking terms, full control, deep sea
least favorites: stick, intro, lets find an out

this is an album i come back to time and time again. its just so nice and freshing to listen to while also being emo and indie enough for my dumbass

i love the vocals on this album , the notes lindsey jordan hits are unlike anything else ive ever heard. i dont know why! its not a crazy whistle note or anything, it just feels real different and nice. but sadly i sometimes dont like ... read more

favorites: rainy tapestry, wods of love
least favorites: for lovers ONLY FOR THE AMOUNT OF TIMES IVE HEARD IT IM SORRY

albums so good im willing to explain to friends and family why im listening to an artist called "lamp"

i love the blend of melancholic and lively tracks, despite their differences they flow together surprisingly well and never get too slow or too fast in a way thats jarring to the rest of the album

id listen to any individual track off this but id also sit down ... read more

its a cute collection of songs, just not something i would listen front to back. i really like intersection though, one of their best acoustic tracks imo and a nice callback to modern baseball :]

favorite track: all. of. them.
least favorite track: to even fill this space would be an insult, an affront to the progression of the homo sapien. anyone who believes there to be a bad song on this ep is singlehandedly knocking our species back to monkey brain and is probably breaking a law somewhere for slander and defamation.

despite slaughter beach, dog having some lps that in my opinion show a finer tuned skillset, this one sticks out for just how well those skills were utilized. the ... read more

Slaughter Beach, Dog - Welcome

favorite track(s): monsters, politics of grooming, forever (solely because of those VOCALS ONGG), toronto mug II
least favorite: if you literally put a gun to my head and told me to choose maybe like essex street

this album takes what Modern Baseball perfected and what Dawg set the stage to do. despite tending to like the more 'laid-back' style seen on Birdie and At the Moonbase as opposed to a midwest teen style myself, this album perfects a balance of both of those!!

the vocals, guitar, ... read more

kinda hard to rate because of the amount of songs but here i go. i appreciate this ep, especially as the starting off point for jake ewald to branch out into the ulta-personal distinct style he would go on to cultivate. you can really see those hints of greatness that would later go on to define SBD in this ep. imo there's nothing majorly wrong with what was done, but it could clearly be refined more, as seen on Welcome. this definitely isn't an album i'd play one song off either. honestly this ... read more
