This album gets progressively better. The highlights are great, and the production, which doesn't mind taking risks, is also great. So much so that this album feels like 15 songs instead of 10. Definitely think there's some resemblances to Gorillaz production. Her lyrics on this album are also more explicit and heavy, which felt like a barrier she had been wanting to break and finally did. Though I think it's ever so slightly worse than her debut, it is a bloody good effort.
The heavy, and detailed production is phenomenal. Harmonies are beautiful and Beatle-esque at points, while the lyrics are intricate and emotional. This album packs a punch.
20 minutes feel like 40. There are some cool ideas here and there but it feels like they're never developed through. The instrumentation doesn't vary one bit, nor does the production, which insists on double tracking his vocals in every single song which for some reason reminds me of MGK. This album is not at fault for being offensive, just merely boring.
A cohesive record that flows nicely. The songs are well written and the deliveries are raw, emotional and powerful as hell. The playing is great, very tight.
