this EP is so fun. it’s so fresh to have such 80s-esque pop in a new digital age. Despite the bubbly noise and such animated voice, it still feels like it’s lacking something in final production and sound mixing. maybe that liminal feeling could be the idea though.
excited to see her upcoming work!
now THIS is how u put out an album. all bangers. this is one of the first albums that should pop in your head when you think about best music from the mid 80s that incorporate well balanced synth pop and r&b. Love that deep bouncy bass, truly makes it a party.
Production and instrumentals are solid but i did not like the execution the song transitions. personally get the ick from too many skits in an LP.. LOL. This project did not feel like the same effort as her other albums.
everything about this album gives me this radiating nostalgia that i feel down to my core. genuine serotonin. it feels like a long day. im not sure why i haven’t found them sooner.
i don’t think i can pick favorites.
new to “midwest emo” but enjoyed this album. not used to spoken word but he has a lovely voice regardless and the instrumentals were solid.
favorites are Fine, Great , Your Graduation, and Apartment
this may be controversial for the more hardcore fans here but Rock Bottom is not that hype… the pacing for the first half of the song throws it off for the rest of the track. that’s honestly my only critique.
what a perfect follow on to The Fame. i dont think any of her other future works have topped this album. her polyglot lyrics really add to the album as 'worldwide'.
Judas, Bloody Mary, and The Edge of Glory are her top imo.
not to compare but she reminds me of the same angst and sweet melodies that melanie martinez had upon her first debut. in the same sentence however she has her own very unique sound and presence. i honestly really enjoy the album and i cannooottt get over her voice. as a fellow 21-yo im proud of u girl. i cant even pick a favorite song or a top 3, theyre all lovely.
enjoyed that this mini album held the same TWICE standard and consistency. i feel that’s also where the album lacks. it starts to feel repetitive as you get to NEW NEW. i think if i let it sit in my repeats for a bit ill find one to latch on to.
loving Bloom a lot :) .
Easy should’ve just been left as a single tbh. This EP seems really lost in the woods. Huge step down from UNFORGIVEN. The girls vocals were lovely throughout the EP but the production side just felt so lazy.
had no idea what i was getting into with a “folk and digicore” album, but im pleasantly surprised. glaive found a good balance to lead with illuminating acoustics and progress into strobing hyperpop. i think with a bit more experimentation he will find his perfect balance. he has a lovely voice, can’t wait to see his future work.
God is Dead is my favorite off this album.
The title of the album speaks for itself. a lovely constant stream of good energy and vibes. only criticism is a personal one and that is M5 may be a little too much energy for me haha
I enjoy the diversity of this album whilst keeping the same tone and setting. I love the energies between each song, the sheer difference in sound yet none of them feel out of place in the album. Some of the nature sounds could be a bit overused but it didn’t take away from the album for me personally.
Personal favorites are a tie between Disco “B” and 伊豆甘夏納豆売り.
Love all of this. Encapsulates a beautiful day at the beach, or just the feeling basking in the suns warm rays. It’s soft, it’s funky, it’s a refreshing glass.
My personal favorite tracks off this LP are バードアイランド急行 and 憧れのセーシェル諸島. I could sleep outside and absorb this album for hours.
every song got me gagged fr. i jus do not like the scientist remix SO SORRY. i
some songs r a little corny bc of recent trends but this is one of the albums that introduced me to alternative rock and metal and i have a special attachment to Time of Dying and Gone Forever
