Could have been my 100th relisten, and its still one of my favs in noise rock. BAMBARA really creates here an intoxicating atmosphere, blurry, bluesy punk with a strong kick, the dark, gothic and westerny touch, ominious sounds and eerie production fitting for a suffocating small town. It does have a pretty straighforward personality.
Its also a catch if you like story driven albums, cause the band pretty much focuses on pretty dark stories based around said town, and they're quite strong at telling their tales, I hope I can guarantee that BAMBARA is good at keeping your attention with lyrics.
At least it works for me as I keep coming back from time to time eagerly. It might be a matter of my soft spot for Shadow on Everything, as it simply manages to make me feel quite unlike like any other album does. Even though its not a revolutional music.
It all feels almost as if David Lynch took a part in a modern western and it all got converted into music.
I really do love this album and I wish it got more attention honestly, even though it might not satisfy everyone.
