Okay I was actually about to go to bed when I saw that this was only 22 minutes. I thought to myself ‘Whatever, let’s do it, it’s so short’.
That was an amazing decision.
Sitting in my bed and listening to this while it’s completely dark outside is one of the better experiences I’ve had recently. And damnit, now I’m getting even later to bed because this is too fucking good for not getting a review.

This is one of the best EP’s I’ve ever heard. Lemme explain:
Right off the bat you’re hit with an offputting and strange track that melts your brain with transitions from improvised sax passages to super heavy and distorted bass to watered out guitars, it’s really a mess. But the thing is it’s a mess that, in a weird way, makes sense. On top of all these things you’re getting these spoken word passages that speak ominously on the terrors of war. And when the Heavy bass enters the mix, the voice appropriately begins almost screaming “The Sky is alive with thunder!”
It all ties together as a chaotic soundscape that perfectly portrays the terror of the subject matter.

I won’t go into detail with all four tracks, but the opener is by far the most chaotic, inaccesible and offputting of the bunch.
The saxophone gets a lot of room across the tracks, and what an effect it has. I’ve never heard a saxophone utilised in such a way.
Much of the EP is improvised kind of jazz-infused post-rock that does not stop being absolutely gorgeous.

This EP is all killer, no filler, and the atmosphere of it all paints a vivid picture in your mind. It’s almost a story. About war, hopelessness, and the cruelty of our world. But of course, there’s a little bit hope. That’s at least how i interpret it.

Can’t wait to hear a full-length from these guys
