I've been revisiting AFYCSO and Pretty Odd a lot these last few days, given it's now been 20 years since the release of their debut. It's lead me down a path, where now I sit down and listen to 'Live in Denver' for the first time in.. a long time. This performance on YouTube was one of my core memories growing up as a youngen.
It's safe to say, I was definitely onto something with this shit. Every single song in this performance just slaps you in the face at how ... read more
it's tough for me to find a whole lot wrong with this album, and even then this album has surpassed expectations for me. gone is that raw sound, for a more professional version of the band we had, and it's fuckin good. heavy, angry, and there's even time for a slow song in there (and a bass guitar if I say so myself). 30 mins of pure fun, and I reckon this is the album that propels them to millions more listeners

Hm. Okay.
This album is.. really weird for me. I definitely need some more time with it, but for now I want to get my initial thoughts on paper.

It's sick) and ... read more
While I could easily write a 1000 word essay, I'll keep it simple.
This album is so worth your time as a listener. This is twenty one pilots in a really mature stage and at their very best. However, Tyler is still that extremely vulnerable artist we love - with themes of suicide and addiction rampant throughout the album. But Tyler manages to grow both as a human being ... read more
I don't care what anyone says. This album slaps, and was home to all the anthems I had on in the summer of that year. The happy feeling you get from this album is unmatched, and during the pandemic I really look back on it and think the boys really did have the right idea. Yes, it's not as flashy or daring as it's predecessor, Trench, but this album is also not one to be insulted. Really underappreciated, shame it got so much hate.
