Panic! at the Disco - Live In Denver
92

I've been revisiting AFYCSO and Pretty Odd a lot these last few days, given it's now been 20 years since the release of their debut. It's lead me down a path, where now I sit down and listen to 'Live in Denver' for the first time in.. a long time. This performance on YouTube was one of my core memories growing up as a youngen.
It's safe to say, I was definitely onto something with this shit. Every single song in this performance just slaps you in the face at how ... read more

SOFT PLAY - HEAVY JELLY
90

it's tough for me to find a whole lot wrong with this album, and even then this album has surpassed expectations for me. gone is that raw sound, for a more professional version of the band we had, and it's fuckin good. heavy, angry, and there's even time for a slow song in there (and a bass guitar if I say so myself). 30 mins of pure fun, and I reckon this is the album that propels them to millions more listeners

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
50

Hm. Okay.
This album is.. really weird for me. I definitely need some more time with it, but for now I want to get my initial thoughts on paper.
First of all, some of the beats and flows Em produces here is some of the best I've heard from him in years. Definitely feels like that classic Eminem this album is going for, I especially loved the beat and flow on 'Brand New Dance' (pretty sure it's sampled from a mario kart track of the top of my head? It's sick) and ... read more

twenty one pilots - Clancy
96

While I could easily write a 1000 word essay, I'll keep it simple.
This album is so worth your time as a listener. This is twenty one pilots in a really mature stage and at their very best. With three children, Tyler probably doesn't have as much time to contribute to music and that certainly shows in the lyricism. However, Tyler is still that extremely vulnerable artist we love - with themes of suicide and addiction rampant throughout the album. But Tyler manages to grow both as a human being ... read more

twenty one pilots - Scaled and Icy
80

I don't care what anyone says. This album slaps, and was home to all the anthems I had on in the summer of that year. The happy feeling you get from this album is unmatched, and during the pandemic I really look back on it and think the boys really did have the right idea. Yes, it's not as flashy or daring as it's predecessor, Trench, but this album is also not one to be insulted. Really underappreciated, shame it got so much hate.

Imagine Dragons - Nice To Meet You
20

I really hope this band sometime soon just hangs it up to be quite honest. Don't get it twisted, I'm not an imagine dragons hater. Their first album (along with maybe their second) lives in my brain and is still an album I go back to and enjoy. But everything since then has been a consistent downward spiral, and here we are. Quite honestly, maybe worse than Thunder.

Bring Me The Horizon - POST HUMAN: NeX GEn
52

The next chapter in Bring Me the Horizons music is here, and the opinion that nobody asked for is in. What do I think of the album?
Overall, I'm really devastated over this album. There's a part of me that really wants to love this album, and I mean REALLY I want to love this album which is exactly why I use the word devastating. Unfortunately, I just don't. So let's get some strengths out the way -
Oli's lyricism on this album is a particular strength. Songs like 'Kool-Aid' and even N/A work ... read more
