Their dark aesthetic is definitely unique for the 60s, and I think that sets them apart from other West Coast acts from this time. They are the perfect embodiment of garage rock.
never heard the pedal steel used like that before, very cool
I do not claim to have a sophisticated taste in music, but this album is so entirely lacking of anything charming. DO NOT BE FOOLED by the whimsical album cover.
Highlight of this album is Gene Clark absolutely gasping for breath during the harmonica solo on Captain Soul.
I fell asleep halfway through and had to relisten to half of it 👎
I'm walking down the street. I wave to someone I know. My phone is in my hand. Their eyes go straight to my screen. I flash-banged them with this fugly album cover. I hope we can remain friends after this incident.
