Even Though AOTY doesn't list "White Awakening" to be on this album, it is part of the album and I find it to be one of the best renditions of the song since the bass line is so beautiful!
I don't know what to say about this...
It's beautiful, it's like someone gave an angel or poor lonely factory worker a piano, a guitar and a dream and asked him to compose music.
And what a voice!
Maybe this is what Laika heard in her final hours up there in the deep deep space.
HAIKU POUR TAKASHI MIZUTANI
In the waking hours
Or maybe at dusk, night's dawn
His cry stil echoes.
In a journey through melancholy and dreams, every song on this live album has its place. From the slow uncertainty of Dream again today to the unrelenting bass grooves of Wilderness of false flowers to the solo of sadness on White Awakening and the beautiful guitar chords in Saw the night in your eyes, closed off with the 10 minute epic of Enter the Mirror that just builds and builds till the screeching wails piercing at your heartstrings, this album proves to be one of the band's ... read more
The night wind, the candle flame at dawn, better known as "But I was Different" Is one of those tracks that I could loop for hours, the added vocals are cool but I still like the bootleg original better.
I have meditated on what to say about this album. After many and many listens I have come to the conclusion that it has some of the best lyrics to ever exist. Lennie's poetry is just something else man. Every song just screams melancholic love and winter in Montreal with old friends.
I can’t help but wince at the sheer pain and fear that Is whimpered across these 2h30 hours of whimpering religious ranting and sonic maximalism. It is hard to get through and has its tiring moments but at the end of it all it is one of the most impressive musical performances I’ve heard. Some might say it is pretentious, I disagree, this is raw, this is sweaty misery: he is chanting his mental illness and it sounds terrifying.
Travelling from far away, finding true peace in the threshold of memories. Pilgrimage to a pear tree.
bleeding ear ghost-melancholy/stingray strobe light/heartstring groove
Stepping into ethereal gardens, you hear the voice of god, it sings to you in Mark Hollis' voice.
A SPECTACULAR, LOUD METTALIC LOBOTOMY WITH ORCHESTRATED DISSONANCE LEADING TO CATHARTIC TONES.
THE BEAUTY OF HUMAN EXISTENCE
Listening to this for the first time made me realize there was more to music than I thought there was. It was like waking up from a feverish night after a period of mourning. It is hard to believe humans made this monumental album, it has so many layers to explore and elements to focus on.

When the casket shuts on your corpse, and you're dead body lies in stasis in the dark, you'll hear this play from some orchestra of the mind or from a place below.
This is the best EP of all time. The climax on BBF3 is maybe the best GY!BE payoff on any of their albums. After a couple listens I can safely say, this might be GY!BE's most flawless release.
The instrumentals on this evoke the sadness of broken hearts, missed opportunities and nostalgia for better times. The Triumph of Our Tired Eyes is maybe the best song ever made.
Captures being the least liked person in the room at a suburban party perfectly.
Soundtrack to driving down Massachusett roads, the beauty of whining in somber melancholy.
