im not too familiar with either full of hell or merzbow for the most part, ive listened to tidbits of merzbow here and there but outside of that i didnt really have any expectations going into this project. to be honest i was pretty surprised! most of the top reviews are very critical of this album, so i was kind of surprised when i finished it that i enjoyed it (for the most part!)

Quite a letdown

The production on this album is great, everything sounds so crisp, the insane drumming, extremely unique and diverse vocal styles, and bits of classical strings leads to a really unique and layered listening experience, unfortunately this album gets really bogged down by the amount of intensity in it. i will never get these 5 hours back

this album really suffers from its length. basically every track (especially in the second half) is filled to the brim with filler ambient that adds nothing to the album as a whole and just makes it such an unenjoyable experience, even the moments where stuff is actually happening is plagued with being horribly mixed and generally being uninteresting as a result of the album just not having that good of an atmosphere. too much of what happens on this album ... read more
