Despite the less gainy guitar tone the album manages to be brutal as hell. I absolutely love the clean singing the vocalist does and despite how odd it sounds at first, it matches perfectly with the songs. Incredible album.
Brutal. Can't wait to see where they take their sound in the future.

best metallica album for sure, but a 100 it is not. the title track is an incredible display of the songwriting prowess of the band at the time but it's so sad to see it didn't totally transfer to the rest of the songs. battery, master of puppets, damage inc and orion are amazing songs but the rest of them just don't have that same quality most of the time with a few tracks like disposable heroes being simply too long for it's own good. really, really goddamn good album ... read more
pretty disappointing that the final pantera album, especially as the followup album to the great southern trendkill, was generally so disappointing. while RtS is an amazing metal album in regards to the similar bands at the time, it's a giant drop in quality compared to the albums that came before it. contains a few standout tracks like;: revolution is my name, death rattle, and goddamn electric.
in essence, good but should have been better from a band like pantera.
