If you’re burned out on raging young men spewing aggression atop jackhammering drums and grinding guitars, then pass on Pantera. But if you’ve still got a yen for that sort of fare, you can’t do much better than this slab of metallic mayhem, Far Beyond Driven.

Vulgar Display of Power (1992) solidified Pantera's huge fan base – an unholy alliance of flannel-shirt thrashers and old-school headbangers. The megawatt nation will no doubt find Far Beyond Driven even more enthralling.

This album sounds like the ocean but dirtier and grimier. Also the og cover for this album is quite interesting and disturbing
I'm not someone who tends to have physical reactions to Metal music, especially when not in a live concert setting. In actuality, I'm far from the stereotypical metalhead in terms of personality and general image. Really solid and energetic roid fuelled shit here. A couple of misses but overall a really hype listen
A couple of months ago, I decided to listen to Vulgar Display of Power out of curiosity and absolutely hated it. Ever since then, my opinion on Pantera has been fairly negative, so when I finally came around to listening to this one, I was shocked by how much I actually like.

How tf did this grow on me so damn much
I think I rated this last year as a 75 as my metalhead friend wanted me to listen to this. I really liked the first half, but the second half was a bit meh for me. But now, this is a no-skip tracklist for me if you exclude track 5 which is ass.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Pantera lacks any kind of energy? Something about the riffing and vocals just sounds lifeless to me. I mean, these are well constructed songs, I just feel like in the hands of a different band they'd feel more impactful. Not a bad album, I just feel like it could be way better.
