An older, more confident Robert Smith re-sings one of the earliest Cure songs with greater emotional weight around masculinity. It sounds just as good, with the extra bits from the 12” mix as a nice bonus. The B-sides are fun punk songs, nothing special.

“As I grab my pad and pen and begin to talk from within,” this introduction track is very poetic and emotional, I’d give it a 100, especially given the fact that it continues in the outro track. Unfortunately I found Mary’s verses sounding out of tune.

This album feels flat. It might’ve worked better as a shorter project.
The intro tries to set a “Mysterious” mood while highlighting Missy’s accomplishments etc, but I found it … corny rather than compelling. Still Missy throughout several tracks remind listeners why she stands out! Overall, the album has it’s moments of fun and energy, but it struggles to maintain momentum.
