If we just take the anthology into account (which I am for this review) then geez there is some improvement. There's some much more ernest songwriting here, and there's more space for the music to breathe and be beautiful. Bad lyrics are still around (absolutely not as bad as the first part tho) but that's easier to forgive when you can tell the person singing those words actually care about them

Absolutely a bumpy experience, and yeah some of the lyrics are crazy, and its not that memorable. I really do appreciate how these songs build tho, and as an album there is a flow that makes a lot of sense. I wish I liked it more but what can ya do

I almost feel more passionate about Evermore then Folklore even though I usually say I like it just a little less. Her best song is on this album (the songs being evermore fight me), and the quiet acceptance that is all over songs like happiness and Marjorie just pushes this album so far above different ones in the same style. There's just so much substance here.
Favorites: All of them, ESPECIALLY Evermore, except coney island
Bads: Sorry Coney Island, and sorry the national by extension.

I've learned that spending time arguing about if this is good or not is pointless. All I can say is this one really works for me, it is one of the few albums I can say actually got me through a hard time (which is especially meaningful cause at that point I was over Taylor Swift).

Bads: Sorry Mad Women

With Lover there are 2 or 3 songs that are so obviously bad, that it becomes pretty clear how good a lot of the rest of this album is. I would agree that this one feels the most like what a stereotypical Taylor Swift might be.

I spent a while hating this album (and Lover by extension) and at this point, I don't care. It's as simple as "I listen, I like" no it's not on the same level as other music I might give this rating, that's thought provoking or clearly well made, but what can I say the music goes "bwam bwam bam" a lot and I like that. The album also stands for so much more then just the music for Taylor Swift, and its hard to act like that is worth nothing.

As much as my contrarian heart wants to say this is bad, my dumb brain has these songs playing on repeat and I love me a good bridge.
Favorites: Out of the Woods, How you get the Girl, I know place, Slut!, You are in Love
Bads: All you had to do was stay, Wonderland, Suburban Legends

Although some tracks get to be a little repetitive (Idk how none of them would with an album that has 30 songs (uh oh tortured poets department)) this is a really cool album that captures a lot of emotions really well. I think this is Taylors first real incredible album

Bads: 22, We are Never getting back together, Run, I almost do

especially considering that the vault tracks that are pretty lame all together, I just don't get this one. The criticism that Taylor writes only for teenage girls is pretty lame, but feels somewhat justified on some of these songs. But then this album also has Enchanted and Long Live so theres good and bad all around.
