Danny brown, a man who raps about sex with women, even on this album, makes the gayest album of all time
Saw the crazy high reviews for this and got my hopes up. It’s a pretty good jazz rap project and it’s sonically pleasant but that’s the thing. It’s too pleasant. I almost fell asleep halfway through track 5.
I wanna like this but it’s just too slow to thoroughly enjoy it for the full 43 minutes
“Omg he sounds like Tyler he’s even dropping on Monday” BRO WHO ACTUALLY CARES! This project is crazy from soundscapes to features to genres it’s a rollercoaster and it’s really really good. Yeah the Tyler influence is there but it’s still a super interesting concept and story. 1 thing I love especially about detahjae is the prominence of the story in his albums and this one is REALLY cool.
So stop whining about influence and enjoy some good ass music ... read more
Fav album of the late 2000s so much to enjoy in this and so many interesting sounds
Really vibey album lots of hits and misses also ROY BLAIR FEATURE IM GOONIIIIIIING
Super easy listen really chill it’s like peak background music for just doing stuff. It’s super jack johnson/john mayer esque especially songs like root of all evil. The religious influence on this is pretty in your face but it’s done super tastefully I think. All around really good album
NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! Is insane might be my fav Peggy but I need more Danny man. My ratings a little lower bc I didn’t like the Danny track or manic very much but hearing everything in slightly better quality is nice
My first album of his this was a really interesting experience the beats were immaculate and the lyrics were great but what stood out the most was his delivery. So much passion and chaos in his voice.
