i absolutely love this album. the production is so good and different.
really refreshing take to pop, love it.
something about the album cleanses your mind.
her voice is so soothing and personally i like the style of whisper-singing on this record.
though i would have picked norman fucking rockwell to win aoty, this would be my second choice.
best: bad guy, xanny, c me in crown, bury a friend, goodbye
fav: like all of them
i like her slower songs like the hill song and mother but her quicker songs are more boring to me.
overall really cool sound and cute but boring at times
running up that hill is a masterpiece tho
best: running up that hill, mother stands for comfort, waking the witch
lowered willoughby tucker because this is better
towards the end it was similar but overall really great.

"Fumble my words and fall flat on my face through the truth" -- at least he is honest.
but seriously. it was overall mid. id say it was more "Mid All The Time. Fun, Occasionally."
first run of tracks is insufferable besides 'ready, steady, go!'
I dont know what i was expecting but it was overall okay. there are a few highlights here and there. assperture should not have been the lead single 😭.
missing something. But the second half of the album was definitely ... read more
in 'in a lake' each chord pulls into the next. really great instrumentation.
dead women is ethereal and just when you think its going somewhere, it goes the opposite direction. beautiful.
ill change for you: amazing songwriting.
her songwriting is so great. mitski is among the best american songwriters currently.
best: in a lake, dead women, i'll change for you
great instrumentals but how does this person make such great songs with other people and his solo songs are mid....
update:
also like risk it all is so good why wasnt everything like this. i think the cover is like similar to risk it all. why didnt we keep that theme throughout the whole album???
there is something so unique about his music.
i dont do rap and stuff but this is so good.
its so unique like these sounds ive never heard anywhere else.
i dont think there was any time or there were very few times where i was bored in this record. often when i'm listening to albums to rate it feels like a chore. this was not.
writing is good. most songs sound similar?? it just kinda irritates me how every chorus resolves.
