FIRST OFF - this being labeled as conscious rap is some kind of anti-black. I'm not exactly able to explain why but not a single person can explain how this album is any form of conscious rap apart from it just being unapologetically black and feminine. Ig just expressing your identity in any sort of coherent way as a dark skin queer woman is now something to be revered as conscious. This is not a dig towards doechii for not being conscious, she is just not and it's fine, she never ... read more
apparently ppl dont like do you know the devil like that wtf\?
this album is quite confusing blackberry marmalade.
After the more personally, community focused and introspective trio of albums from VINCE STAPLES to dark times, Vince Staples and his flaws point more directly than ever in the direction they have been staring at for a while now.
America is a bitch. thats why Vince is here and that's why I'm listening to this. but that doesn't make for a satisfying album on its ... read more
My curiosity is going to lead to my demise one of these days...
this is awful dawg. somehow the slightest bit better than honestly neverwakeup and even more surprising somehow also not the worst album Drake dropped within that same day.
what's crazy is that Drake is actually by pretty far the worst part of cheetah print as much as niggas hate sexyy red this might have been a more acceptable release if you had her alone on this. I mean it wouldn't be that much better considering what ... read more
its not enough to say I wanna die anymore eyou gotta make a whole ep. thats just the rules, son.
this is a way more thorough exploration of the psychology of living by default than I could ever hope to have written with that fuckass EP. not without its really annoying corny sized failings but I appreciate it
some of the flows are really not appealing, amateurish sounds, which I am ususally forgiving to because I dont wanna give my own music a zero, but I feel it does become something that ... read more
and would have been at least a little dissapointed if it didn't, but as much as I loved Bored AF I have no idea why that song is on the tape. I understand that its more of a DPS song but I don't really see how it gives album vibes.
and as it seems the tracks themselves are still pretty much fine, I don't think I would care much if they weren't the best on the album. except from scared none of the new songs are better than any of the songs I had already heard going in and idk ... read more
not only did I just get reminded that MGK and this EP exists I just got reminded of the preposterousness that was the inclusion of JID into this bs we cannot be real like how does this dude MGK even manage to get all these features do they not hear he's dogshit?
also I changed my mind mgk is actually much worse on this though they're two cheeks of the same ass.
this album beyond its very thorough explorations of the themes of black existence in America and more importantly, Teller's individual existence is just a masterpiece in vocal delivery and carrying the emotion to you, doing the rest of the job that cant be stated with words.
I've been focusing a lot more on rappers overall performance over lyricism lately, as funny as it is probably since I heard bully by ye, but I've talked on this account how much it kills me how many people ... read more
Listen to 8 out of 10. listen to Drake's voice. listen to how he's riding the beat. at no moment afterwards did Drake ever have this fire of a delivery.
I kinda hate how much this album everso slightly grew off me, but more importantly thank God you're not legally required to listen to albums in full because I can enjoy the juicy delivery and bangers of my childhood without having to deal with that god awful trainwreck that is scorpion disc 2. I have been on record saying ... read more
If 6Lack could maintain my attention for longer than 2 minutes at the time this would be a perfect album.
Refreshing to hear rnb about actual love and maturity but a bunch of uninteresting melodies and subpar features knock it down a few pegs. Really enjoyed his usual softer sound in these instrumentals, there was an improvement on his style overall.
I should give him a zero because he blocked my goat but I'll give him some mercy and be fair.
On "experimental Rap", Jpegmafia continues to consume the pages from ye's notebook for better or worse, this time for much worse. inspired by the genius, Jpeg decided to drop his own subpar collections of soulless songs that sound like throwaways from a much better project that never existed. standing at a whopping 25 tracks but barely 3 of them touched the 3 minute mark, most of ... read more
You cannot run from yourself forever.
So... iceman dropped. with two whole other albums, Habibti which was certainly an album and the third one which I am not reviewing if you paid me for it. I wont yap, it was mid. you see the score, scratching away a painful mid from the claws of the subpar alike of FAT Dih and certified lover boy. but iceman is a better album than those two. it's Drake (+ atlanta losers) on his solo shit, no more Mr nice man shit. now were just ice cold.
I still cant ... read more
Spinning the wheel and relistening to albums: “first rule of Ta13oo, dont talk about Ta13oo”
Tw: light mentions of sa, sh, su!c!de. I'm not gonna go in depth into it because of obvious reasons, but it is something that is mentionned

Spinning the wheel and relistening to albums: so... y'all like pokemon?
finally got an album I wont hate on, good job wheel!~
I dont think I will ever stop liking this album.
a little background, sword and sorcery is one of the earliest albums I was hip to by myself.
I had heard wizard when it originally dropped, but I started listening to this album in late 2023, after my summerlong hamilton phase. I've been a rustage fan for years but at the time I didn't notice the drop ... read more
it took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to realize the thing he's holding is the same lightbulb as in the TEST music video and not a torch. that realization took the little love I had left for this album.
Nothing against the dude detahjae, but I have grown to kinda despise his style over the few months I sat with this album and the last one. this one is still kinda better because he still added a few ribbons to his traced copy of tyler's style from the last album.
he gains ... read more
Bully by Ye - its so awesome, I hate it
first of all, I'm gonna use this as an opportunity to clarify the "old kanye" has only existed for max the first 9 years in his mainstream career and hes been slowly turning the fuckery we can observe nowadays ever since. like at this point hes been the new kanye for actually longer than hes been the old kanye and people still think he can come back. bro is long gone, despite what delusional stans say and most of them (like me) have never ... read more
"shitting on them like 2 girls and one cup" is a sentence that can perfectly describe all the ianahb albums. Goddamn, I didn't remember wayne having this many bars that are straight cheeks. it makes me even consider if Drake might be a better rapper than him just cause of that although he does have his fair share of ass bars but never as egregious. what wayne is doing is mainstream big Sean levels of ass.
Spinning the wheel and relistening to albums: weezy F baby but the F is for F-
this is truly one of the worst pieces of music I have ever had the misfortune to come across. on top of bros voice being particularly irritating with some grating autotune that cant even save it sprinkled in about as often as possible, every single time lil Wayne spits some shit that give me hope it should save whichever song I'm on, he follows it up by so idiotic and atrocious that it makes me immediately ... read more
listening to Jada and Swim spending their 2 minutes and 19 seconds main single to make a point to disavow some supposed poser only to learn after listening to the album that the real LARPERS is the partyof2
This album Massively grew off me within these past 5 months. I have a tendency to overrate albums on first listen but this has to be one of the worst cases of it and I believe this is because this projects on first listen sounds like more than meets the eye, but as you try to delve deeper ... read more
