This album went so hard I cried out of pure joy

Dunno if I could write a big review for smth like this but this genuinely incredible stuff, and EASILY my favorite jazz album ever eudhduxncncnc

What sucks about this thing is that I actually like the concept a lot. Think of something like 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴, in terms of how the album makes fun of various genres/aspects of music in general, but remove like all subtly and charm and you get this.

My first album from him and I’m really happy I started here, this shit is really well done.

Tho the first half is incredible, the last half is a bit forgettable for me sadly (still good tho). Will probably get around to Pure Comedy soon idk wjdnejjecjmcmc

It kinda checks out that someone like Jim O’Rourke would start off like this, and it ain’t even half bad.
Wouldn’t call this album some of his best but… yeah it’s good. In all honesty, I won’t revisit this often, but I think the weird, kinda eerie vibe makes for a memorable experience.
