I mean he's still got the auto tune on to max but I think this is a huge improvement on going shopping lyrically because I really didn't like the lyrics to that one I think I can genuinely now say I'm really exited for the new strokes album unlike before when I thought it might all be like going shopping which I didn't like that much.

The fact me not giving this 10/10 could be seen as a hot take is rely showing of how universally loved this album is.
I really like the production but I find it doesn't variate in sound or lyrics enough throughout to make this as enjoyable as it could be
This album captures an unmatched energy that pulls you in so insanely well and slowly builds in an emotional and entertaining way until it reaches it's most underrated song, "long island city, here I come" which presents itself with an unmatched vaulting ambition that feels both aimless and focused.
