The GOATs are back. This is a pretty refreshingly back-to-basics metalcore track, which is especially appreciated in a sea of mediocrity plaguing the genre these days. Whenever Converge returns from their slumber away from the studio, they always drop an exhilarating new project. Here's hoping their upcoming new release continues their impossible streak of fantastic albums.
I find the aversion to a lot of extreme music to make sense. In truth, for me, its sonic abrasiveness affirms what makes it so impactful to me. And I say none of that to flex the ego muscles of being some sort of patrician who sees musical quality where the plebeian would see "noise," I mean simply that that abrasiveness is wholly intentional. And in my personal estimation, what makes it unlike anything else.
