a lot of this album feels like stolen valor to me because some of my favorites are covers of other songs... i think a lot of people don't even know that 1/3 of the songs on this album are covers!
this is probably my favorite Beatles album, i love how just *nice* it sounds. it's super comforting and chill and i kind of prefer the very basic sound of it that i've seen other people judge it for. BUT, i will say it has pretty low lows. some of the songs do straight up suck and others ... read more
to me, this just sounds so unique. i love the use of instruments and the singers voice SO much. i think some of the lyrics are a little questionable but that's okay! overall i can see why it's so highly regarded, it really is amazing.
my favorite track is obviously In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, but Communist Daughter is a less-popular second pick for me!
for my english speakers: i love this album, it's so laidback and beautiful, and it's an instant go-to for me if i ever need some background music to help lull me to sleep. it's probably my ... read more
i don't think it's anything super special, but it's great and definitely worth a listen (it's short and sweet!)
the singers voice is great and whatever he's doing during Gemini just scratches my brain ... it's definitely my favorite track
diary (don't speak) — 83
gemini — 97
hoxton — 73
sonya — 82
a really great and short album. i love this type of screaming where it sounds like there's literally 0 technique, y'know? like i'd think this is just a guy who's actually screaming into the microphone. that type of screaming carries so much more emotion imho
this is so raw and the drumming is incredible.. 100% worth a listen. i couldn't rate the Bonus Track, BUT please be informed that i think it is a 94/100.
my favorite track is definitely Saosin, but show your teeth ... read more
this album really isn't that good, but i absolutely love the feeling it gives me. the songs are so energetic yet they make me feel so sad...
somehow every song on this manages to be perfectly good but not great (i guess it's a textbook example of mid, but that description doesn't feel right to me). either way, i would still wholeheartedly recommend this album. genuinely i think it's worth a listen!
my favorite song on this is Goodbye Everyone and it's not even close. ... read more
again, i'm so baffled by how low aoty users rate this album... i know it has some LOW lows, but i feel like some of weezer's best stuff are also on this album. this begs the question: am i hearing something that everyone else isn't hearing, or am i missing something crucial?
anyway, it doesn't bother me. i like this album! don't love it, but i like it. i've seen other people mention the lyrics and yeah, they're bad. other than that, i love how cohesive the ... read more
i'm not the hugest fan of the green album just because of the history behind why/how it was made, but i can appreciate it for what it is! it feels super reminiscent of the blue album and all of the songs are very catchy! I'm honestly surprised about how low it's rated on here considering that this is one of Weezer's top albums (i think)
either way, i enjoy it a ton. my favorites are O Girlfriend and Smile!!
they managed to save this album by putting some of their best work (the angel and the one and heart songs) on here
the first half isn't that bad but the second half is rough. SUPER rough. and it sucks because i absolutely adore this album cover.. the lyrics are just baaad and you can really see where they started to lose their charm with this album
(review + rating for the b-sides ONLY) (but i docked 20 points for being associated with the red album)
miss sweeney — 100
pig — 100
the spider — 100
king — 92
it's easy — 84
so disappointed that none of these were on the main album. these 4 (5) tracks are genuinely so much better than the red album as a whole, it's sad. miss sweeney is probably the best thing weezer has ever made, which only makes this worse. i swear weezer has this habit of making ALL ... read more
this album is so magical! my first time listening was unreal, especially was someone who didn't know what to expect + doesn't really listen to shoegaze. i WISH there were more vocaloid albums that were this unique.
i know even non-vocaloid fans who have enjoyed this album a ton, it's just objectively THAT good!
my favorite track is Twilight and no other song even comes close. i think this song actually makes the rest of the album look sooo bad. it is literally heavenly to ... read more
i fucking love this album. cover to cover PHENOMENAL there are no words to explain how much this one means to me & i don't think any album will ever surpass it in my eyes
first of all, Tired of Sex and Getchoo are an incredible start to the album. they really set the scene for how fucking groooooss and raw this album is. on the other hand, butterfly is the perfect way to end it. such an angry album ends perfectly with a more somber song THAT is also a reference to the inspiration ... read more
(this rating is specifically for the b-sides and nothing else!!)
i love how LOUD the guitars are. and rivers' voice is great in this!! i really wish more of Weezer's discography sounded like some of these b-sides (the other half of the b-sides looowkey suck). Susanne is probably one of my favorite Weezer tracks EVER, it is absolutely gorgeous.. on the other hand, i feel like Paperface is total wasted potential. i am NEVER that guy and i HATE to be that guy, but i think the song ... read more
rivers really has this incredible ability to sing about bullshit and still make some genius music
i adore the vibe of this album, i have a real thing for fun stuff that just sounds good. i regurgitate this one a lot, but holy guitars!
i don't have much to say about this album, but i do love it! my favorites are Buddy Holly (it's a requirement) and Only in Dreams!!
i think this album gets wwwwaaay to much slack on here. it REALLY is not that bad and i feel like half of these songs are super undeserving of the low ratings they're getting! Raditude is definitely not even Weezer's worst album, so i can't imagine how much some people here would haaaate something like Pacific Daydream, haha.
back to my main point -- MAYBE the lyrics lowkey suck, but i think it's so fun and happy and some people just truly hate joy and whimsy... the ... read more
god, i wish every MCR album sounded just like this one. gerard way's vocals are fucking amazing in this album and matt pelissier's drumming is to diiiie for. the lyrics and the stories behind each of these songs is also just wonderful. namely, drowning lessons and monroeville stick out. and, as always, the guitars are great. i feel like that one goes without saying.
my favorites are definitely Demolition Lovers (MCR peaked here) and Early Sunsets Over Monroeville!
i genuinely think pilgrims is a song that EVERYBODY needs to hear. the instrumental at the beginning is fucking phenomenal. genuinely so unbelievably gorgeous. i think i cried the first time i heard it, no joke.
the album is incredibly beautiful, although probably not everyone's cup of tea. i adore how "emo" it is and how angry and hopeless the album sounds as a whole (if that makes sense). and the yuki tanaka's vocals really help sell it, she's made for this genre! ... read more
what a hidden gem!!! i saw somewhere that dallon wasn't actually a fan of this album and i'm absolutely astounded to hear that. i think this is genuinely the brobecks' magnum opus... i don't know, this album is just so fun and the keyboard (?) adds such a silly vibe to every song! ending in heartbreak or death is also phenomenal? hello?
my favorite tracks here are obviously Le Velo Pour Deux and Heartbreak or Death, but honestly I think there's something for everyone ... read more
i'm not a huge fan of the "vocal flow" on some of these songs, unfortunately!! i think weezer specializes in incredible guitars and it's (thankfully) super evident in this album. the guitar was noticed and appreciated in even the songs i wasn't a huge fan of.
i also really like how short the album is and i love the more chill vibe. my favorite is deeefinitely December, but Death and Destruction and Burndt Jamb are right there with it!!
this album is so unbelievable. from the first track, i instantly knew i'd love it--
every song puts a huge smile on my face, it's literally pure serotonin to listen to this album. i LOVE the use of instruments and the incorporation of unique ones (did i hear a harmonica? LOL) and i especially love how the vocalists stretch and play with their voices.
it's impossible to listen to this album without being brought back to reality every other second. SERIOUSLY, i can't put into ... read more
