This is one of Cage The Elephant's most underwhelming singles, if not their most. This cover is soulless, bland, and sucks the soul out of the fantastic original song by Metallica. As a big fan of some of Cage the Elephant's previous work and Metallica, I was incredibly excited for this.
Also, what's up with the production on this? The acoustic guitars sound thin, Matt's triple-tracked vocals are overbearing and uncomfortably loud, and the drums sound artificial. (not that artificial drums are ... read more
This is one of the best things I've ever heard. I don't even know what to say about it.
I like this one. Probably their best since the Black Album. Production is actually good for once, which was shocking. Metallica's always struggled with having their albums sound listenable, despite being one of the biggest bands on the planet.

One of the best albums ever made as far as I'm concerned. Everything about this album is perfect. Rarely has a punk album ever flowed this well between tracks and had this level of consistency. Plus, it has Debaser on it. That automatically makes it incredible.
