It's crazy how looked overlooked this album is, it's just a shorter, less complete version of To Pimp A Butterfly.
Great overall album, some of Kanye's best production. The darker atmosphere works amazingly, and some of the songs are some of Kanye's best.
The album has an amazing melodic sound, easily Kid Cudi's best album. A few skips, but an extremely well-constructed and unique album nonetheless. Cudi Zone is top the Cudi IMO.
This song is really underrated, both Kanye and The Game both had great verses.
Not much to be said about about this album, one of the best concepts and performances of any rap album ever; the album's only slightly weak point is replay value. Kendrick's second best album IMO, I prefer GKMC as an album.
An overlooked album, much better than its successor. More coherent and slightly less bloated than other recent Kanye albums, though still not a great album.
Despite being significantly bloated (the pt 2 tracks could have easily been left off the album, and many of the tracks' runtimes feel excessive), Donda has its hits and is a good album overall. It feels like some people unfortunately just group this and the less enjoyable Donda 2 together.
Really good beat, sounds like something off of Yeezus or MBDTF, though DJ Khaled did NOT help the song.
Fun Christmas song, nothing special, feels like it was purely made for commercial success. Still a good song.
Flower Boy had unique production that, while occasionally feeling awkward, was balanced by strong lyricism and a refreshing, fun vibe with deeper layers of emotion.
While Jesus Is King has a few standout tracks, the majority of the album consists of unfinished and basic songs that lack any creative depth.
Both Kid Cudi and Kanye are amazing on this album, which has a unique futuristic sound to it. The album's shorter length works well for it, giving it a compact and contained feel, though it doesn't have enough songs to justify a higher rating. Some of the songs are short enough to feel like they could use another verse.
J. Cole’s discography ends on a high note with this album. It feels consistent throughout and maintains its energy and flow between songs, though it can feel bloated at times, with some songs dragging on for a while.
While the album feels scattered in places, it still feels coherent and cohesive in its own right. Relatively overrated IMO, definitely not top five Kanye, definitely has its stronger and weaker points; still a great album overall. The last half dozen songs are great.
Prime Kanye, Drake, and Eminem on a fire beat, and they didn’t disappoint. Wayne’s verse is a little stale IMO, and the song can feel like it was made to just be popular at points, but still a banger.
