I will start off by saying this album is great and I highly recommend it to literally everyone. It's an album that I think is essential listening, if it's not something that is already your thing then this album and band in general can make it your thing. But in my experience with it, I am pretty close to loving this album.

I first listened to this album in full about 6 months ago and while I thought it was great and deserved a lot of the praise it got. I didn't really get it completely. It didn't immediately hit me as one of the best albums of that decade and of all time. But after Middle 8's great video breaking down the album's impact, I finally understood. I played Minecraft while listening to this and it honestly enhanced the experience so much. It was very cool peacefully traveling in a brand new minecraft world to these songs.
Alright its time for a take...I personally prefer megadeth to metallica. Why? I prefer Mustaine's guitar playing style to that of Hammett or Hetfield. The speed and the tone of the guitar playing on here is insane. I love hearing the shredding on here, specifically on the song "hangar 18" when the guitars go off into these fast blistering solos and damn it's good and I love it.
