Just A Gent - [ARCHIV3D]

Well, color me surprised. I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did.

"The Answer Is" was a tale of two halves for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the album, but as I neared the latter half of the album, I started to feel fatigued. The tracks seemed to melt into one. So when I saw that Just a Gent would be releasing a "b-side" to that very same album, I had reservations as I feared it would be more of the same.

Instead, I'm left wondering why Just a ... read more

Glacier - here (not rly) there

Listen to this album one day when you're stressed out and feel like all your thoughts are scrambled and running around in circles. Find something nice to drink, wear a good pair of headphones, get comfortable in a good chair or a soft sofa, close your eyes and relax.
I promise you, once you've listened through the whole album, your mind has been on a 38-minute journey of tranquillity and serenity.

Thank you, Glacier.

CloudNone - Almost Weightless

Despite containing one of my favourite CloudNone tracks, "Faster Now", and other highlights like "What It Feels Like" and "Snowflakes", I'm still left with a slight feeling of disappointment that I just can't shake. It's not a bad debut album by any means, but because CloudNone has been one of my top artists for so long, I expected a little more. While I respect that CloudNone tries to branch out and experiment on his debut album, most of the time it just doesn't ... read more

Chime - Aetherborne

What an absolute gem Chime has released here. Ever since colour bass found its way into my personal musical radar, I've had mixed feelings about the genre. I could definitely see the potential and uniqueness of the genre, while also giving the world of dubstep a much-needed breathing space, from the overflow of Riddim. However, it never really found its way under my skin, at least not until I discovered Chime, who seemed able to hit the sweet spot of what I wanted from colour bass. So when I ... read more

Skrillex - Quest For Fire

This album makes you wonder why Skrillex chose to release the "Don't get too close" album. This album shows a more mature side to Skrillex with brilliant production and, mostly, good features. This album easily contains some of Skrillex's best work to date, where especially the singles "XENA", "Supersonic", "Leave me like this" and "Rumble" stand out for me. A few tracks like "Hazel Theme" and "Good Space" do leave you with ... read more
