It's U!
What an album holy fuck.
I've been a pretty big fan of April for a little while now, and when Music and Do It first dropped I instantly fell in love witu them. Now that the whole album is out I can confidently say that this is among my favorites if not being my #1 album of all time. Every single song on here is beautiful, there's so much meaning and emotion packed behind every note and chord that just makes me feel at ease. Only song that wasn't a flat 100 for me ... read more
Review: This was... Interesting to say the least. I went into this with pretty low expectations considering I'm not a huge fan of Taylor and I hadn't heard super good things about the album. To her credit, I don't think any of the songs are that egregious outside of like two examples, but to say I liked the album overall wouldn't be truthful. I do think all the songs are sonically okay and even pretty good at times. Most of the instrumentals do work really well with making ... read more
This album is fucking incredible. Every song was above a 9/10 and there wasn't a single part of the album that fell flat for me. This is by far my new favorite album of all time and is the first (and possibly only) time I'll ever give more than one song above a 10/10 (Inertia & 2085 - 11/10)
Best Song: Inertia - This is an incredible experience and a song that I would personally recommend to everyone. This not only resonates a ton with me lyrically but it's also an amazing ... read more
This was the first AJR album I ever listened to, and it hooked me on them as a band instantly. Listening back to the entire thing, wow. It amazes me how this holds up even now after I've listened to a bunch of their other songs. There are no songs that miss in my opinion, and every song is a blast to listen to.
Best Song: Way Less Sad - This was the first song I've listened to by AJR, so it kinda holds a special place in my heart, but even disregarding that I love this song. Everything about ... read more
Okay what the fuck is this album. I went into this expecting to hate it due to how much I dislike Game Over and SOMEHOW MY EXPECTATIONS WERE SHATTERED BOTH WAYS. This album has barely any highs, with the only two songs being above a 2 having ratings of 4 and SEVEN. This is not a real album and I refuse to believe it.
Best Song: Keep Holding On - Okay, I'll admit it, this song actually resonated a bit with me. I struggle a ton with anxiety and a bunch of other problems and hearing a song like ... read more
As a fan of AJR, I felt I needed to listen to this eventually since I always heard about it, and y'know what, this album is a mixed bag. The highs are very high (Growing Old on Bleecker Street**, Overture, Big White Bed) and the lows are VERY low (The World is a Marble Heart, Big Idea, Thirsty*), but it isn't the worst thing ever. Definitely more tolerable than what I had initially gone in thinking.
** Best Song: Growing Old on Bleecker Street - This is incredible, and probably my favorite ... read more
