This album is so generic, so sterile of any human soul, so offensively inoffensive, it pisses me off
I liked the first track a lot, real good tune. But the rest just takes a nose dive. I'm also a little confused on track 10, is it a parody/social commentary, flipping the script of men fetishizing lesbians, or is it actually just her being tone deaf and fetishizing gay men? Hopefully the former, but in either way it's just a completely unlistentable song. Overall the way I felt towards this album was that it's just poorly and immaturely written.
Why can no one but a select few do rage right. There are zero redeeming qualities on this album, I'm genuinely floored. Dave Blunts has competition for worst album of the year
For lack of a better way of phrasing this, why are music rating sites overrun by band kids
Album starts out strong, weakens out a little in the end of the first half, and then completely tanks in the second. There are maybe 2 songs in the last 10 tracks that can be regarded as ok, the rest are terrible. Mule Komin In is abysmal, my man tries to rap on an Ave Maria beat on Maria. What the hell is Island Holiday. I'm glad he doesn't play guitar. Why are there elephants. Why is mgk here.
Addison comes out with a huge improvement from her first EP, developing more of her own sound and style. Still, it's nothing special. There's some interesting production on here such as on High Fashion, but a large amount of this LP is pretty bland or boring. Most of the album, and especially on Fame is a Gun, sounds dated, and in a bad way. It feels like a fever dream you're stuck in.
I'd have to say the best song is Times Like These, pretty good tune. Money is Everything ... read more
Some of these ratings are extremely surprising to me. This is a great album I don't understand lol
I liked about 30 seconds of this album, on Emergence from 2:40 to 3:10, then they ruined it. Last track has some decent parts as well. The lead vocalist's voice and singing though, I hate it. I can't quite describe it other than melodramatic for no reason, "you can tell how serious this is by how seriously I'm singing it" type technique. I don't buy it. It's annoying.
Sleep token is what you get when you task a boy band to make metal
What the hell is this? Is this a comedy album? Is it self aware that it's bad? Is that the point
Mac Miller is an odd case to me. On one level I see nothing bad he makes, and I respect he has his own style. But on the other, if I had to give one general word to describe his entire discography, it would be this: boring. He's just boring. Besides Macadelic (a GREAT album), I find everything he does just boring. Not bad, definitely good parts, but boring. And this album is no exception. It's not like there's any track here I am criticizing. For the most part it's good, ... read more
Mostly generic country with some standouts. Sounds like someone tried to make country after hearing it on the radio for the first time. A little bit of that classic Post comes out on "Losers" though, and California Sober is good. Hide My Gun and I Had Some Help also decent tracks.
Benson has nothing going on in his life to warrant this level of dramaticism
