Very run-of-the-mill, formulaic darkwave/post-punk that you see almost everywhere, this album doesn't do much to bring added interest or much change at all to the standard format. Nonetheless, it is still has some substance & is of decent quality, there are one or two standout tracks among the rest.
Lush, maximalistic and gorgeously textural, LOOP:GLAMOUR relishes in its infectious charm and groove that is absolute candy to the ears. The production is just so whimsical and intricate, I CANNOT get enough of it. Some parts I felt could've benefited from more clarity or better vocal delivery, but overall I LOVE this project.
This would be rated much much higher if it weren't for Rozz's overly edgy (and racist, among other things) lyricism that intrude on the rich and thoughtful presence of the album. I feel like there are some really cool ideas and concepts on here, but the execution did not quite match up. This is apparent in the mixing and mastering, which I think are what take away from the project the most. As well, a few of the songs start to sound a little samey.. Despite all of that, this remains a decent album and it shows a lot of creativity and potential, I am intrigued to see what's next to come of GRNHLL.
A much more atmospheric look to blackened death metal than we've ever seen before with Belphegor, I also feel it leans a little closer to the black metal side this time around which I love
