i don’t mean to be that guy but this is actually absurd music (positive)
sound collage in this instance translates to horribly amateur production under schizo rants
a commercial release laying back on their usual intensity, resembling old metallica. the acoustic tracks and funk metal twists sprinkled across the record keep it pretty entertaining.
i’ve never cared for slayyyter at all. but the love this album is getting is incredible and just proves the scene needed a shake right now. this is electropop’s decade. brittany murphy is so tough.
U is underscore’s opus. there’s not a moment of unintuitive production. it’s irresistibly catchy.
every track is so dense and carefully tuned. some really hardcore drops too especially for an electropop album. it’s a perfect capture of their unique sound.
this is my 1000th rating
i actually saw morrissey live 3 years ago because me and my dad landed some tickets. he did the whole subtly racist remark between sets and casual strip to twirl his chest hairs bit. two separate people actually tried assaulting him on stage that night.
kinda get it after hearing this. make-up is a lie just comes off as insecure and trying to be something way deeper than the substance we are given. granted i’m not trying to give morrissey the leniency that ... read more
it makes me sad that even our lgbt community on this site is hating on this album. peaches is a literal trans icon who’s been fighting against patriarchy and gender norms since the 1990s. at the age of 59, she riskfully releases her first record this decade.
now obviously some of you are confused on what the purpose of this album even is, which albeit, isn’t amazingly clear. let’s start with the title: “no lube so rude.” undeniably, the globe has been in a state ... read more
you have to respect the commitment to whatever this is. I saw mattress perform before modest mouse played at zeyzey for their first venue in miami and,…everyone was a bit confused to say the least. some people were angry because they thought he was modest mouse. mattress seemed like a drunk who stumbled on stage to give an improv comedy sketch.
the vision may seem unclear, but its definitely there. it’s minimal synth with these longing, satirical vocals. like james murphy if he ... read more
one of the most exuberant experiences country rock can offer. an acid blues twist that can be so beautiful yet seriously whimsical, and the vocals hit beyond the mark. an under-appreciated album on this website for sure.
super underrated tom waits. honestly a sweet middle spot in his sound that’s minimal but still pretty eerie and abstract compared to his normal stuff
sparks never clicked for me until i came across this album. going electronic was the most brilliant decision.
innovators of punk blues, with some of the first gothic country music on record. Miami feels like it’s constantly building on this overwhelming tension. punchy and desolate, beyond ahead of its time.
