Pop 2 is easily Charli XCX’s strongest work to date. Here, Charli straddles the line between synthpop and glitchy experimentation. She is again aided by P.C. music producers A.G. Where do I even begin with this album? The influence and forward-thinking of this album is undeniable, laying the groundwork for punk rock, noise rock, art rock, and more. It’s also a pretty enjoyable listen. The songs on here range from soft and sweet to noisy and abrasive. However, both ends of the spectrum, as well as everything in between, are incredible.
