Still first impressions, but I'm quite happy with this stuff.
I generally liked the music style in the tracks and how she has started to experiment with new sounds in some of them: however, I feel that tracks like i finally understand and party 4 u are way too "basic" in terms of sound and lyrics and are very meh.
I loved that Charli decided to put some works into creating a great opener and a great closer, which make the album complete and suitable for a start-to-finish ... read more
I didn't really like this album at first, I'd only listened to a few tracks when it came out in August but I felt like they were quite generic and not so exciting.
However, I gave it a second chance around a month ago and I changed my opinion quite a lot.
Alewife, a track that I originally slept on first, is a perfect and emotional opener with some great use of acoustic guitar.
Impossible, Closer To You and North are also very nice and, while in Alewife and Impossible the themes regard ... read more
This track alone is better than half in Love Is Dead.
Jokes apart, I really feel this song is a mixture of Bones and EOE: the synths remind me of the first, while the lyrics and backing sounds remind me of EOE.
I'd recommend giving it a listen, it's surely a grower and it gets better and better the more time you play the song.
EDIT: If you haven't, checkout the Live version they played at the Game Awards 2019!
This is where all began for Chvrches, where most of their biggest hits belong to.
The Mother We Share, the opening track on this record, is one of the most-streamed Chvrches songs ever and one of the best by the Scottish trio too.
We Sink keeps the road traced by the opening track, maintaining its rhythm and the intensity and also letting Lauren's vocals shine at their best.
Gun, Tether, and Lies too are some very enjoyable songs and the album peaks with the song Under The Tide.

I know this is going to be controversial, but let me say a thing first.
Petals For Armor it's going to be a success for Hayley, a lot of people and critics love this record, so she'll probably be fine.
However, I didn't enjoy this album as much as I wanted.
Let's start with the things I liked the most: there are a bunch of songs I really love. Simmer is one of them, with a lovely production and some quite fantastic lyrics written by Hayley.
Sudden Desire is also great, something unique: the ... read more
I'm speechless.
I honestly didn't listen to anything made by Lorde before listening to Melodrama, but this really feels like the closest thing to perfection I've ever seen.
Lorde's voice is stunning (especially in Writer in The Dark!), the lyrics are so damn powerful in nearly every track, there are also some top-notch stylistic devices and all of these create a breathtaking atmosphere and sense of immersion that's super rare to find everywhere else.
Favorite tracks: Writer in The Dark, ... read more
Usually, a record always has something ordinary and predictable, but Fetch the Bolt Cutters is an exception.
All the tracks are unique, but, especially in some tracks like Shameika and Cosmonauts, Fiona is able to deliver an impressive rhyming scheme, which gives the impression of listening to a very well crafted album.
Surely a strong AOTY candidate!

I was honestly expecting something more from Awolnation, but this record has some considerable flaws.
While some tracks like California Halo Blue or The Best provide a bit of variation in terms of sound and creativeness, the rest of the album lacks depth and gets stuck in a very 'general' pop-rock sound which becomes even annoying after a few listens.
It's good, some songs like Ghosts and World's On Fire stick out, but every track sounds quite fine.
Sharon doesn't disappoint as usual.
Apart from a couple of songs, there is a nice symbiosis between music and lyrics which makes everything so real and motioning.
Definitely recommended.
Best 3: Seventeen, No One's Easy to Love, Jupiter 4
Worst/ Least fav: I Told You Everything, Memorial Day
Truly one of the best albums ever. Instrumentals are amazing, fitting Thom's voice perfectly and, combined with fantastic lyrics in most of the songs, makes the record impossible to dislike.
Best 3: Let Down, Exit Music, Electioneering
Least favorite: The Tourist
Everything from this record is gold in its own, the way every track is connected with each other is amazing and makes the record perfect for a start-to-finish listening.
Best three: Interlude/Hysteria, Falling Away With You, Endlessly
Worst: None.
Probably just the start it's a bit off, but the rest of the song is pretty good.
This album sounds promising.
