Lupe once again goes jazz rap heavy on here and although the talking flow here can get annoying, the calm production masks it.
The subdued flow of Seventhirtyatmorning is nice, as it bounces off the laid back production well all throughout the project. This whole project pretty much being all mellow does make it repetitive, but since the track to track flows through very well you don't really mind it that much. Navy Blue raps over fall like production that just screams leaves falling to the ground on a nice Chilly day. The undertone theme of death lingers the album all throughout, which is why I think the wind Blowing signifying fall is very clever as it emphasizes death ( Winter) being on the near horizon. Nothing here really seperates Apollo from other rapperes in the scene that do this type of rage better. Hell, a lot of the production feels like way too basic rage or just outdated from 2 to 3 years ago. Even when he switches it up and goes for a very much Popish tracks on " More Time" he just sounds uncomfortable trying to find even a flow that suits the production.
